My own treasure hunt

2 months ago, i was busy with packing UP my belongings in HK, 2 months later, i was busy with UNpacking my belongings in Shanghai...honestly, i didnt think i had that many things before (well, i did think why one person needs so much things and thus started to throw away things), it turned out, i still have many many things...34 boxes were delievered to me on monday!!! well, let me clarify, 34 boxes because of the following:
  1. shipping company didnt want to damage my things, so they wrapped my belongings as if they were in winter...their coats were thicker than my coat right now!!
  2. shipping company wanted to organize, so they packed my stuff according to their nature and where they picked them up...naturally, i had many small boxes~~
  3. i just simply had TOO MANY things!!

well, i'm glad my things are here coz they made me feel more homely....i also don't like them here because they messed up and took up my space....but overall, i miss them...ALOT!! i havent had the chance to unpack all yet...these days, i was just opening some boxes to find things that i need...everyday, i feel like i am opening my own presents...everyday, i found surprises....i love the feeling...ho ho ho, xmas is with me for weeks~~~

問問題的技巧及藝術 (the art of asking questions)

I found this from the net and found it very meaning and quite amusing...the author was pretty good at describing the situation...it makes you laugh and yet the message is clear...so i thought i would share it with my good friends...the one i really like is this: 「憨居居、食煎堆」and 「只要有心,倒垃圾那個人也可以學到東西」。hope i brought some laughter and things to ponder on for you...gambate

Common Sense is not always Common ,原因就是從問題中找出你的Common Sense

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning” by Albert Einstein

My impression of KL

i remember a few years ago when i was still working in Kuching, the only place that i went quite often was KL...why? because it is near kuching and the only place i could afford to go at that time...i didnt have good impression abt it because ppl there were not nice...taxi drivers were cheaters, ppl on the streets were not so friendly and it was really hot!! so i told myself and my friends that i would never come here if i had a choice...that was how i felt abt KL...well, just today, i saw a talk show on China tv about KL...they talked abt how KL was used by many countries for movie business and they showed many places that i already forgot existed...like the court, like the national park, like the train station etc, that still contain the "feel" of malaysia...and suddenly, i felt proud abt it....perhaps i focused too much on the bad side of KL at that time and forgot to look at the good part....i wish i would have another chance to go there to explore the "uniqueness" of KL....but it wont be materializing so soon lo...who wants to go with me and explore its uniqueness and beauty? I remember one saying, an idea that previously didnt work doesnt mean it will be worthless forever, sometimes, it will be overturned and become useful sometime in the future, so don't chuck it away...well, i guess ur impression from the past doesnt mean it will be like this forever, things change :) so...DONT BE STUBBORN!!!!

Numbers

have you ever stop and think about this....ALL our lives, we are surrounded by numbers...we have birthdates, anniversary dates, friends' and relatives' birthdates etc to remember. we are given tax file numbers, employee numbers, social security number etc...even our houses and cars are given numbers...then we have mobile phone numbers, contract reference numbers...why cant we just have one number that is used universally? guess it would be too big of a project to do....Dont you think we look like the picture below? always controlled by numbers~~

I was busying with packing my belongings back in Oct to get ready for my move to shanghai...during the packing time, i realized i had many many things...some i need, some i dono i had, some i don't need...then it crossed my mind as to why one person needs so many things in his/her life...is it because we have more wants as we get older? or we don't what we want so we just buy buy buy.... here are so photos during the course of my packing....and at the end, my place was sparkling clean with nothing inside!!

Final morning in HK

I was taking the afternoon flight on Nov 15, 2010 to Shanghai from HK....departing HK permanently...i have to admit...even after all the ups and downs in HK (and i did put them in the blog here to share with u guys), i kinda feel sad to leave HK....i didnt learn to speak perfect cantonese, i didnt find a HK guy to marry, i didnt have anything attached there but i do have feelings for it....this is human nature...if u are there, you will never cherish it..when u are leaving, you think u miss everything...hahaha...anyway, the morning, i did many things... I woke up early that morning and tidied up my belongings....then i went downstairs (yes, that is how convenient it is in HK) to have breakfast at my favourite restaurant (@ taihing...太興燒味) for a quick breakfast...my purpose is to have the milk tea la...but i had a huge breakfast at 10am...imagine, one lai cha, one noodle, one toast with scrambled egg...i had to say, i was super full and super satisfied and the breakfast cost me HKD24!! value for money.... I went to airport at 12noon and by the time i arrived..it was noon time...i was really really full but didnt wanna miss out the chance to have my favourite food before i left...so i had the roasted goose at the airport......so full man....then i went to the lounge and had a small bowl of wonton soup!!! gosh, i started to feel bloated....suddenly remind me of my days when i returned to KCH for vacation for the first few times after leaving KCH....always felt like i need to fully take advantage of my time in KCH and thus, had 4 breakfast in the morning and 2 lunches and 2 dinners in a day!! now, i was doing this in HK as well....
After eat eat eat...it's time to depart HK~~ :'( on the good side...this experience makes me realize there is something good abt HK...i still remember how much i hated HK before...hahaha...oh well...human nature like i said before.... alakavista, babe, I WILL BE BACK~~~

next time, when you see me back in HK...i will be one of those mainland Ch*nese....taking a bit trolley out to shop and just buy buy buy (i wish i will have that much money to spend!)

New life in Shanghai

Sorry for not updating this for so long...i can give you many many reasons as to why and beg for forgiveness...but hor, getting access to facebook and blogger here is very very difficult lo...coz of the control the govt put here..so luckily a friend let me use his mini server outside china so that i still have a little bit of access to world outside my own :) still remember how often i checked my facebook last time coz i have the application installed on my iphone...now even got the application also cannot use....sigh...but that's life lo.... it's been really busy for me lately...trying to adapt to new environment, new job, new ppl and looking for a place to live...i remember 5.5 yrs ago, when i went to HK, i was shocked by the space there and got a bit of phobia...then after tat, i got used to it and thought my home in Tsuen Wan was pretty nice...still miss my home though....i was looking at many houses in shanghai last weekend with friends and i realized...oh dear, it was a cage house in HK and here is like soo soo spacious....hehehe... i havent taken any pictures of shanghai yet....havent really had the chance to venture outside yet.....will take the chance after i settle down ;)

my birthday in HK

I had a great birthday this year.....that day was also the day when there was a grand opening for the xmas decoration in hk...this year's theme is cakes and snow couples...well..it was a good timing coz it was our bday and i got to have so many giant cakes from the street!! hahah..anyway, that day, my colleagues helped celebrated my 60th birthday and bought me 寿桃 (birthday peach)...gosh, i was so touched and felt grown up...(FYI, birthday peach is usually used to celebrate 60th birthday)..hahhaa...they were delicious!! coz it was also my final birthday in office, my colleague bought me another mango cake and threw me a surprise in office....they sang me "happy happy happy birthday" in TGIF style...hahah..i didnt take picture coz we were busy lo.... then night time, my friends celebrated another bday for me..and i got a free carrot cake from the restaurant and another birthday song!! and two german guys next to us gave me a birthday wish...hehehe.... It was a year full and cakes and lovely people and one of the birthdays that i will remember forever....coz it's my final 5th bday in HK, celebrated my 60th birthday in advance, had so many cakes, surrounded by people i care about and also the day when i "lost" the most money~~ because i'm leaving HK permanently, i need to clear my tax and obtain a tax clearance form from the tax bureau before HR will release my final salary payment...so on 11/11, i went to tax bureau and they put me in a little room (though not dark) to fill in my tax form...everything became not tax deductible and they also added tax on to me...then in the afternoon, i went to get my tax assessment and paid on the spot..... >_<

i am homeless these two n a half weeks and was staying at my friends' place...gosh, i didnt know how popular i am until i am homeless coz ppl are fighting to have me stayed with them *blush* haha...i was only kidding la...it was nice of them to take me in....i am grateful for that..and it was good so that i didnt have to bother my friends for two long so i tried to divide my time in half....i really enjoyed my stay...anyway...that night, when i was staying with DMY, i saw something in the bucket...i looked closely and saw my 内在美 in her bucket full of her own 内在美!!!OMG OMG, i panicked! i thought i put it in there when i was sleep walking...or mayb she mistook that for hers....i was tempted to fish it out from the bucket but i didnt...my mind was still in the unbelievable state that i just couldnt think....actually i just woke up after a whole night of dreams~~ hehehe..anyway, i continued with my morning chores...then something hit me...oh, it should be DMY's coz we bought the same one together at the shop la....and i left out a soft laugh and told DMY the story....DMY left out a LOUD laugh...hahaha.....it just didnt occur to me at that time la..but it was a small misunderstanding but a funny one...it would be funnier if i fished it out and kept it as my own...hahhahahaha....one last gift from DMY before i leave HK...

another dramatic day

That day, i woke up feeling hopeful...why? because according to the weather forecast, a typhoon would hit HK soon and the wind was already strong...i was hopeful that we could get a day off (FYI, if Typhoon hits #8, we don't have to go to work...if you are at work, we can go home early...and it's paid..now you know why i felt hopeful) As usual, i got up, got ready and went to work....it was windy and many ppl brought their umbrella, put on their rainy boots and also feeling hopeful like me...when i reached the MTR station, gosh, it seems like there were more ppl than usual and i saw an MTR staff putting a "emergency" sign on..i stopped briefly to look and it said, train would delay to arrive every 4 mins instead of just 2 mins"...no big deal for me..so i rushed and got in the train...was in the train for 10mins when i heard this announcement....apparently a train broke down in a critical station and all of us had to alight in the middle...so i thought, what the heck...it was just 3 stations from my stop, i would just hop on a bus when i arrived...how wrong was i??? well...wrong decision because of..... i guess many people thought like me....and got off at that station...the station was sooo crowded because it was packed with passengers, fire fighters and reporters...MTR ppl was thoughtful, they actually arranged free shuttle buses to take ppl to different location...and they didnt even charge us for the train ride ^^ yeah, i'm easily satisfied....anyway...it was really really crowded even outside..but i did enjoy the attention from passerby, polices and reporters...hahhahaha...another drama in HK even before i left....i had so many drama's in hk that i really need to create a special category for it!! let me reminisce here.... First, there was almost a fight in the train because a guy accidentally knock on a kid's head and he was crying his head off....then his parents were so furious and wanted to pick a fight... Second, someone's wallet was stolen in the tram and he was yelling and shouting and said nobody could get out unless he found the culprit...it was crowded and hot in the tram and we had to wait for police to come and search...so we were stuck for 1 hr or so.... third, when i was happily shopping in the mall...and saw many people running towards my direction...then i saw ppl looking up and i thought there was some flying show going on...so i looked up..then i saw someone jumping off...spectacular..but instead of flying, he landed on the floor just in front of me!! suicide!! forth, when i was happily shopping with my sis and her friends...we went home only to find many fire trucks lining outside her apartment lot...and found out that it was my sister's floor...she panic coz was worried that while we went out, her friend might have forgotten to turn the gas off...what if it was her apartment? all of our stuff would be BURNT!! GONE!! BYE BYE!!! not sure if i wrote a post on that...anway...just found out someone burnt incense and threw them in the rubbish bin and it caught fire...but we did meet some cute fire fighters...hahaha.. then there were twice when i was taken by the ambulance to hospitalise and was there for 2 - 3 days....you can imagine how interesting my life is in HK!! anyway, back to my story....it was really crowded coz everyone was fighting for the free shuttle bus...it was hot so i figured, the station is not that far from my work place, i might as well just cross the road and catch a paid bus instead...i guess, my thinking process is so common that everyone was doing the same thing...all the buses were FULL...and i only got to office at 10am...i guess i was considered lucky...just 1 hour more la... i kinda enjoyed the whole process despite of the trouble...sound weird? well, when i was Q'ing, i peeked at the lady in front of me..she logged on to fb and started writing nasty status update...she wrote:"MTR had shit arrangement and everyone fighting for buses. damn"....then she wrote another nasty one but i didnt peek anymore...then in the bus, i heard many ppl calling their spouses/friends and complained how congested the traffic was and how unlucky they were and that it was bad that they were still not in office yet...all that time, i was verifying what they said...mtr? shit arrangement? i thought it was good...it was unexpected and they managed to get so many buses in..and the buses were q'ing to take ppl...traffic congested? it was quite good to me coz it looked like there was no difference than before....not in office yet? i bet the person was happy to be outside at this time!!! don't you think, if you adjust your thoughts for a while, everything would be much beautiful? i added in drama in HK so that it would be easier for my dearest friends to recall what i had been through in hk :)

A long journey but yet wonderful

I took the 9pm flight on 10.10.10....and normally, ppl would want to reach airport at least 1.5 hours before their departure time...especially when it is international flight...well, that day, i was supposed to go to airport at 630pm by bus but we only left the cafe at 6pm and we decided to drop by the famous bun shop near my hotel coz they were all worried that i would be starving by them....and i went...for some reason, there was a very lOOooong Q at the shop and we thought it would be fast, but we waited and waited and waited...for abt 20 mins and by the time i got to the station, it was almost 7pm...my bus didnt come...we were all worried but decided to let fate decide my destiny...worse come to worst, i would just stay there for another night (which i was glad to do so) and leave early next morning...i waited and waited and waited...finally, my bus came...i was a bit relieved coz i would be at the airport at around 8pm if everything went well...when the bus left, and i started seeing traffic jam...it was then when i realised that it was national day that day...oh dear....the bus was crawling....i was a bit worried but still decided to keep myself calm...after abt 5 mins, the coast was clear...and i was relieved....after another 5 mins of bus ride....there was another jam at the highway...OH GOSH...and i could see that it was a LOOoong jam...i closed my eyes and just hoped for the best...that was then i heard the bus driver yelled out loud and asked us to look at our left hand side...WOW, IT WAS THE FIREWORKS!!! it was really really pretty...so pretty that i forgot i was in a hurry and almost missed my flight...luckily, it was just a 10 mins jam and i finally the airport at 805pm :) i learned that, if you keep your mind and heart at peace and think positively, you will be able to enjoy whatever that comes your way...and what's better is, sometimes you get bonus...like me ^^

To Do list

was having a fun dinner with a friend and suddenly we talked about our goods habits and bad habits...my friend asked me what do i think my good points are...i went..hhmmm..hhmmm...im nice and kind...and i'm always willing to help etc etc...well..somehow, i had difficulty listing out my good points..but when it comes to bad points...i could just list and list and list..(well, i exaggerate lah)....im just being humble..anyway, one interesting point we both have is, we always have a to do list ready when you have a long list of things to achieve before you leave the country, before the day ends etc....well, i also have my LOooong to do list...please see the picture..that's a three pages long of to do list after 3 days of holiday in HK and before i leave for my vacation... >_< I know, i know..it's a lot...well...just up to now, i have crossed off most of the ones related to work...but still left with some errands to run after work...i noticed during normal week, where i dont have to travel anywhere, my to do list just keeps getting longer and longer...why? you may wonder...because i PROCRASTINATE!!! i know i have plenty of time, so i will look at my to do list and prioritize...then pushing some to the next day, then the next, then the next until...I HAVE TO TRAVEL...hahaha...it's getting better now la.... ^^

New Wok

i was away from hong kong for 4 weeks and just came back recently...My parents visited me at end of august and left hk two weeks after that....which means, they were gone for 2 weeks before i came back...that day, when i came home, i smelled something really bad in the kitchen...initially i thought there was a dead mouse or something so i searched up and down, left and right and i couldnt find anything?! so it had been like this for a day or two until i couldnt stand it anymore and started to use my super nose to smell...where is it? what is it??? then i saw my saucepan on the floor with the lid on...and i opened it...WALIAO EH....it was darn smelly...with 5 packs of instant noodles inside...so i i thought it must be the noodles and threw them away right away..OMG OMG, the smelled lingered on even after i threw them away...why? *Scratch my head* i thought it must be the saucepan absorbing the smell since the noodles were inside for such a long time...so i soaked the saucepan in detergent water for a few days...Even after days of soaking, it still smelled..why? i took the lid away, examined the saucepan...nothing wrong ler....so what is it??? then i looked at the lid..OMG OMG...there were "things" stucked in the holes...and the smell came from there...I took a close look...CRAP, it was rotten dried prawns inside...my mum must have used the lid upside down to soak dried prawns!!!
i boiled water, then tea with the saucepan , whatever you can think of and even soaked it with tea and tea leaves, hoping to clear the smell..i heard tea is good for many reasons....hopefully it would work....okie dokie...the lid didnt smell anymore and the saucepan seemed to have no smell now, until this morning, when i wanted to make my breakfast...i smelled the dead bodies again!!! aarrgggghhh...what the....i think the smell is permanently stucked in the saucepan now...instead of going through the trouble again, i went out today and got a brand new saucepan...tada~~~ well, i wasnt mad at mum...i was just grateful that she gave me a good reason to get new saucepan, for the previous one was already old, scratched and now...SMELLY...hahaha....meet Diamond Lady from the mall today~~

HOW TO EAT? some of them were freshly made and couldnt keep for too long...How to finish by by myself? i would be a fatso if i finished all...but GUESS WHAT? i did manage to finish all...how? well, i took the cakes to office for my colleagues for mooncake festival celebration...then i gave away the sweets to my friends and relatives...tada~ one stone many birds...1) no food went to waste; 2) people shared my happiness of receiving the gifts; 3) no get fat :D

Mooncake festival

中 秋 快 樂 (happy mooncake day) my friends....time sure flies and i couldnt remember what i did last year...i think it was just a simple dinner with friends without lanterns....i remember the time i had this special day in malaysia..always full of friends and lit-lanterns...well, not here, i played it once in hk and that's it :) this year, it was a simple celebration again..just went to DMY's place for dinner...home-cooked meal!!! yay...DMY cooked udon for me..it's my favourite dish and i enjoyed it so much...this year, we had it with plum wine and char siu...guess what, we tried new flavoured mooncake this yr..cold CHOCOLATE mooncake and MANGO mooncake...they were superlicious!!! the most important is still the companionship offered by DMY ^^ met her new pet from seoul..tada~~ white rabbit...im glad DMY likes the rabbit as well and decided to get one..yay...no wonder we are good friends!!
and one more thing about mooncake festival..i was talking to my taiwanese friend and for some reason, HK has holiday the day after mooncake day and taiwan has it on the exact day...when i told my friend that our holiday is only today...my friend was puzzled...is hk having leftover mooncake? why we play lanterns on mooncake day but no 元宵节? have we been celebrating in the wrong way ever since? nah...i still like lanterns on mooncake day :)

is this ah boon?

Many of you may have known ah boon from Malaysia...she's outgoing, happy-go-lucky type of girl and very pleasant to be with....well...she promised me 5 years ago that she will visit me in HK but after 5 years, which is about 1,825 days or 43800 hours later, she is still nowhere to be seen in hk...i have no hope in her anymore...but one day, it was like a dream that i thought ah boon came to HK without letting me know and wanting to give me a surprise....there jen and i were, sitting in the MTR, spotted the back of a gal who looked so much like ah boon...we didnt dare to poke her in case the dream would break, in case it wasnt her..so we tried to make her turn around but for 30 mins, she just stood there, with her back facing us...we both started imagining how she would look like etc.....after 35 mins, she turned and walked out of the train...nah..she didnt look anything like ah boon....
In case you don't know who ah boon is and how she looks like..here's a picture of her...tada~~

And another picture in case you are still scratching your head why we thought of her when seeing the 1st picture...tada~~ the one on the right is the real ah boon~~~

my parents visited me a few weeks ago...i have to say, we all really had fun and really spent many quality days together...we celebrated my dad's birthday at an expensive restaurant which my sis paid for \(^^)/...they gave my dad many birthday peach (寿桃)...when we came out, there were puppies (狗仔队) waiting outside to shoot some movie stars....I could see and feel how happy my parents were ^^ i think they are happy because of the following reasons:
  1. seeing each other (FYI, my mum flew from perth and my dad from Kuching to HK)
  2. seeing my sis who flew from paris
  3. seeing me who live in HK
  4. less worry...i think one way for making them less worry is to let them see how well you are living and how good you are taking care of yourself....i have to say, during this trip, i felt that i have grown...taking care of my parents is the FIRST priority and they are happy to be taken care of.....
took them to a few places to play....and from this trip, i also learned many things from my parents...one of them is 生活智慧...saw how my dad protect his toothbrush...instead of using a cup holder to hold his toothbrush and preventing his toothbrush from being squashed in his bag, lookit what my dad did...very clever and traditional...hahaha...pls see below~~

mustache or nose?

was showing off my rabbits from Korea to some friends....i know kimmy likes them, i know jenn likes them and my colleagues love them..but but...when i was proudly showing the pics off to some friends in taiwan, a friend said no like the rabbit because the rabbit looks like he has mustache above his mouth...i went, huh? took a closer look and realize, oh...the nose...a patch of black thing..does really look like mustache....now my image of the cute rabbits is spoilt...nevertheless, i still love them very much ^^

AArrrggghhhh

guess what? i'm still stucked at the office at this hour...why? because it's raining hard outside and the rain wont stop and what's worse??? there are no taxi's around when it's raining...we have been calling for 2.5 hours and no taxi...NO TAXI!!! this is really ridiculous and it's time wasting..and we are tired and hungry...sigh....so finally, we just called the hotel pick up..and it's darn expensive!!! but don't care anymore...we cant sit here forever to wait for the rain to stop...this is one thing i hate abt SHANGHAI!!! AARRGGGhhhh....both my colleague and i already ordered our dinner from in-room dining..hopefully we can get it once we are back...i can eat a horse now!! > < |||

can anyone guess what this is? was at a friend's place in tainan the other day and spotted this outside his own....another friend found it curious and asked what this is....i looked at it myself and was wondering what this is? i thought the straws were for watering the plant so that water can get into the roots of the plant...no? turn out, there are a lot of cats around and cats like to dig sand and soil a hole after they do they big business....in order to protect the plants from being digged out, my friend was clever enough to stick the straws all over so that when the cats try to poo, their butts will be poked....clever!!! i never thought of it...all i would do could be just put wire around...or put it at a high place...this is indeed a very good idea :D

Made in Malaysia

Durian is one of my favourite tropical fruits...and i remember how we used to squat at roadside in malaysia and just eat our way away...it was a really good memory...and more fun when you are eating it with a group of family and friends....yes, i agree they look dangerous...yes, i know they look ugly...yes, i know they are hard to open sometimes, yes, i know they smell....to me, they smell heavenly...to some people, they smell really really really bad...i guess it's the same logic of how some ppl think steam smelly toufu is great and some ppl including me think they taste like POO.....(>_<|||)
yesterday, i was at a supermarket with my friends and we noticed they sell malaysian durian...last time, they only eat thai durian..for some reasons, malaysian durian is becoming more popular..actually, i see a lot more malaysian products around in hk these days...after the fake eggs incident, i only buy malaysian eggs.....not that i love malaysian products...just that i think there is less risk that the eggs are fake no that because they are not intelligent to invent something like this or not that they are lazy...i just i dont think malaysian would spend the time to go and invent something that cost so little!!! but who knows right??? i could be wrong~~ anyway, the price of the durian in HK shocked me....one durian cost HKD106???!!! i could have a dozen or two durians in malaysia....hhmmm..guys, you must cherish what you have in malaysia ar....now i can only smell it but cannot touch it ><

More bo lo bao

i think i should ask for commission from the bo lo bao cha chan teng in HK....for the past three weeks, i had been bringing people over to this tiny restaurant consecutively!! and now i myself look like a bo lo bao and that is a BIG sacrifice for me...and the other day, even bought 5 bo lo bao and 5 egg tarts and brought to airport for friends!! the owner was really kind, she gave one egg tart for FREE~~ :') so touched...their bo lo bao is especially delicious and smell fantastic when it's hot!! one not-so-young waiter could speak multi-language..which is very hard to find in HK...he speaks cantonese, english and mandarin..so he could actually switch to different language when he spoke to us..their milk tea was good too...i was always full when i walked out of the restaurant and could skip lunch after that...what a value for money...eat one meal, save cost of two meals..hahaha...so, i created this 'trademark' for them...how nice...now i should really consider collecting some advertisement fee!! :D

when i wake up, i see this

remember the rabbits that i bought in korea and the piggy gave by my friends during one xmas? well...they are now sharing a bed with me...im glad that kimmy also loves my rabbits and didnt try to steal them from me when she visited...thx kimmy~~ well..it's always fun to see my rabbits when i wake up in the morning coz they always have funny poses...so i made it a plan to take picture everyday when i wake up...im sure their poses will never repeat!! here are the two pictures i took this morning and yesterday morning..none over the weekdays coz i didnt bring them with me when i was in shenzhen last week~~ arent they adorable and made your day? :D

one fine night, i went to my friend's place for a home cook meal...i have to say...i was touched...fai fai even bought a nice bottle of white wine to get ready for our candle-lit dinner...i was really really hungry that night for some reason...it was raining a bit outside (at least it was the way i remember it)...and it was really homey and the whole ambience just felt so cozy and so romantic~~ we had the jazz and oldies music on..wah..even more romantic and cozy..just felt like staying in the house like that forever...with the candles, the smell of the home cooked meal, dim lights, music, rain...aaahhh..everything seems so right..it was the right moment....right moment....to EAT and DRINK and CHAT with good friend...what were you thinking?

bo lo bao

Recently jenn talked about the heart for po lo bao and after seeing how jenn described it, her friend went immediately to try malaysian version of po lo bao...i was still wondering what could be so GOOOD about bo lo pao that jenn couldnt forget..so last week, i took my friend to the famous bo lo bao place and ordered my very own bo lo bao and a cup of COLD lai cha (milk tea)...it was a small, cramp place but crowded...i had been here N times and with many different ppl...found this place 5 yrs ago and i have to say, they indeed had the best bo lo bao in the whole of HK!!! the bo lo bao was superlicious...look at me in the pic below...obviously i was enjoying my bao that i didnt care how cramp the place was, how noisy it was and how crowded it was...just bao lo bao, lai cha and me!!! it was ssoooOOoo good that i only remembered to take picture half way through my breakfast...and the breakfast made me so full that i didnt have lunch and had a light dinner...hahah...value for $$ :) jenn, you had something to hold your saliva? ^^

Airport disaster

As you all know, i have many terrible airport experience...recently, the travel disaster, then the visa disaster....because of the number of such instances increases, i have decided to add a category for it just for everyone's easy reference...when you feel bored or blue, clicking in to see might cheer you up :) see how nice i am...anyway, you might be wondering what is Jane up to again that you see this heading again? well???!! here's the story:
Friday was our last day in Korea...we were all happy that it's finally over (well..for the work part but not for the korean BBQ and shoju part)....just the night before we departed, we went out for a celebration..of coz at a korean BBQ and with lots of korean wine!!! all of us were half drunk when we decided to celebrate a colleague's birthday, bought her a cake and went to the hotel bar for more...MARGARITA...somehow, korean version of margerita is really something...full of hard liquor..naturally, we all got back to our room, feeling drunk~~ well..... i was 30% sobber....you may wonder this is not even related to airport...it's just some background story....the next day, we all look less fresh than previously (if you know what i mean)....so, t
ime to go to airport after lunch....everything went smoothly...we got into a nice taxi, slept in the car, got to the airport and checked in...pass the X-ray point, pass the immigration...we were all glad that everything went on smoothly....by the time we got home...it was late...but it was ok....then when the laptop was turn on...CRAP!!! it was someone else's laptop that looked exactly the same as our company's!!! OMG OMG OMG...how could this happened? made sure the everything taken out from the bag was put back in the bag..how come? WHY? nan-ni? OMG OMG OMG....called the airport's lost and found, it was late and nobody worked over the weekend...what to do? a lot of confidential and valuable info inside!! luckily found a fixed asset tag on the laptop, knew that it was a japanese company and knew the person's ID...gonna call on Monday to search for missing laptop!! must be the wine, must be too excited to leave korea... :( who knows people also use such 'advanced' laptop....thought only our company is using them~~sigggggghhhhh >_< + (T_T)
luckily this time it wasn't my airport story...it was my colleagues's....don't know to be relieved or what coz it's still somehow related to me :(

Rabbits~~~~

I bought my rabbit toy in korea the other week and i really love it...it was so adorable that when my colleagues came to my room for conference call one night that they also fell in love...so last night, i went back to the rabbit stall with my colleagues and got myself a bigger one....the current one, even though i love it, is a bit small when i hug it at my sleep....i got it because it's small and easier to bring around...but i decided to get a bigger one....now, i stood in front of the stall, picking out my rabbit..gosh...it was so difficult because i love every single one of them...big rabbits, small rabbits, white rabbits, black rabbits, brown rabbits, female rabbits, male rabbits, rabbits in dress, rabbits in pants, rabbits in apron, rabbits rabbits rabbits...this was what went through my mind last night...so i picked one...i havent taken a pic yet...will show you guys next time...but i did take another pic with all the rabbits at the stall...take a look

Something i copied from my blog in friendster....i still think it was really well written...of coz not by me...i copied it from a magazine...it was a post in 2007.....

Shop again...

Continuing from my last shopping spree, i didnt buy a lot of things in Daegu...coz for some reasons, they didnt tempt me that much...the current style is not my favourite...but i did buy a lot of skin related products...in korea, if you go into a skin products shop, they will give you a lot of samples....so my strategy? hehehe..is to buy in instalment from the same shop...i like the make up remover water from Nature Republic which i can only find in Korea...my plan is to buy 10 bottles...first, i bought 2 bottles + other products and got a lot of free samples...second time, i bought 3 bottles + other products and get a lot of free samples...i plan to buy another time...actually, the thing is, i feel embarrassed to buy so many in one go la... *FLUSH*

This is what i bought for jenn....passport cover~~
