Fun in Shanghai

It was a really hectic weekend last week...i have utilised it to the fullest and i enjoyed every second of it....On friday, we left Suzhou at around 3pm and reached hotel at around 530pm, went for dinner with friends and went snowboarding~~~the man made hill with snow was magnificent!!! didnt know shanghai has such wonderful place...hehe...it was cold, -20 degrees...this is the 1st time i snowboarded, it was tough but COOL...the tiring part was carrying snowboard up the hill, bending down to put on ur board, then bend a bit of your knees and down u go...a 10 mins walk up the hill = 30 seconds down the hill...too bad we didnt have camera w us, or else, i would share my happiness w you all... it was a full day on sat, went shopping in the morning and spent spent spent!!! hehe...then went shopping again in the afternoon....then meeting my colleagues for ice-skating...hhmm..it wasn't exactly what i have thought..the place was hot, small and crowded...it was a hot day tat day, it was more like water skiing to me than ice skating...hahha...it was so wet!!! after that, we went for dinner at a restaurant with the best view!!! nice view, crappy food though...heheh...after wasting all the food, we went karaoke...yeah, i know, we were so energetic!! i couldnt believe it myself...hahah..WALAU, you should look at their karaoke...it's so HUUuuggeee and looks like 5 star hotel..it took us a while to get to our room...im impressed...and it's really not tat bad and not tat expensive too...now i realised how small HK karaoke is~~~ (this is us, the ice skating champions!!! :p) Oh ya, this is the view we saw from the restaurant we went...it was cool...i enjoyed the view more than the food...hahahah BTW, this is a group photo we took at our suzhou office before we left for HK....nice pic..good job!! (it was taken by our company driver...i think he has potential...heheh)

Jane's great photography

Took alot of pictures of the nature while i was in Suzhou....any angle i took reflected the beauty of the place...here are some of my GREeeeaaaaAAaat work :) What do you think?

Shanghainese Taxi Drivers

shanghainese taxi driver...hhhmmm...to a lot of ppl, they are loud, rude and they drive like crazy...during my trips to shanghai and taking so many taxi around shanghai, i met some really interesting taxi drivers last weekend....that day, our company driver dropped us at a taxi rest area...we weren't supposed to get a taxi there and we didn't know, so we got yelled at by the keeper over there....one taxi drivers was kind enough to take us coz he tot we are going to the airport...turned out, we were only going to a hotel in the city centre....so he was mumbling all the time, talking to himself....we just ignored him..he started asking me the address of the hotel etc..so my colleague was nice enough to tell him some of the landmark...but he got mad and yelled at her and my colleague wasn't happy and they got into a little conflict there...with this kind of traffic, it was really hard to get taxi and i didnt want to be kicked out, so i just distracted the driver by chit chatting w him....he got better after tat....then in the car, one of my colleagues and i were talking on the phone. there were 3 of us, so another one of my colleagues wasnt talking...so the driver turned and looked at me, then to my colleague who was on the phone, then he turned and looked at my other colleague and asked "ur friends are all talking on the phone, how come you are not....why are u not talking?" hmmm....i wouldnt know wat to say....the driver drove like he just released from madhouse, as usual..hehe...then he stepped on the brake so sudden tat my colleague's water bottle fell to the ground....he turned nervously and asked us what was tat...i told him it was water bottle...then he said, "phew, i tot it was a bomb" DUH, we were not stupid enough to leave a bomb in the car while we are in it...the driver was weird... Later that nite, went to another place...after i told the taxi driver where i wanted to go, the driver started asking me questions, like why i wanted to go there and for what...so i just told him that im meeting someone there....then when i reached there, while i was paying, he just couldnt understand why i had to go there, and asked me just tell me why u are coming to this place.... interesting drivers...hahah

拐弯抹角

Signs in China are very creative, friendly and most importantly, LONG~~~ I came across these signs yday, they say: 懂得珍惜环境,才懂得欣赏环境。 打扫不易,勿抛废物。 it just means不要破坏环境。 不要乱丢垃圾。 but i still like the way they put it...just tat, not all ppl get it...hahaha...

Exploring SUzhou

This is my 1st weekend staying in SUzhou...eventhough i have been in suzhou for 3 weeks...initially i thought this would be a boring weekend..turned out it was a good one though coz my friend came to Suzhou to meet me :) Early in the morning, while waiting for my friend to arrive, i went to the usual place for breakfast...the waitress brought me to a table and asked if i want tea or coffee....so i said Tea...and went to the buffet area to get my food...went i came bek, i didnt notice tat my tea was not here yet, and the guy next to my table called the waitress and asked them where my tea is? weird...i don even know him...anyway, when my friend arrived, we went to the suzhou's most touristy area.... and . suzhou is famous of 园林。so it's a must to visit at least one...虎丘 is the place where 唐伯虎点秋香 met...how romantic~~~it was a really nice place...full of GREENIES :) love the bird chirping and the fresh air :) it was so big that we took 2 hours for the whole journey...after that we went to 拙政园...this is the biggest yuan lin in suzhou...it's a huUUUgggeee garden...gosh....and FULL of ppl....we couldnt took much pics without any heads in them...sigh...my friend and i started to imagine how would it be like to be 古代人。 they built so many pavillions for different purposes..they even have one just to listen to the rain...i know i'd like this one coz i just love the sound of the rain :) it was such a big garden tat we took 3 hours to finish...and we left out so many spots....i dono abt them, i know i would get lost in such a big garden...haha.... (this is the tower where the two love birds met) (the gal in orange...i dono what's wrong with her???!!! when i took the pic, she was not there...and when my friend was abt to click the gal just couldnt wait to be in my pic!!! OMG, couldnt she just wait for 2 seconds???? cant stand it...spoiled my nice pic :( ) (these are the yuan lin....only a small part of it) Now that i have been to the landmark of suzhou, i could say, i have really come to Suzhou...they have a saying in suzhou "到苏州不游虎丘乃憾事也"

Superlicious bfast with everything i wanna eat; 7. Good service (kinda feel like a queen here); 8. Nice meals; 9. A driver to pick and drop daily; 10. Nice and cool weather; 11. Someone to clean my room and do my laundry; 12. sleep later than I can when i am in HK; 13. Going to nearby places i have never been before; 14. Free Gym (not tat i use); and 15. airconditioned room 24 hours a day (My room~~it's so comfy~~) (this is my bed~~feel sleepy already when looking at it...) (my study table..ooppss, full of things..yup, u guessed it right, i am working...^^) (My bathroom...) (My favourite couch...i either lie on my bed or slouch on it while chatting on phone...now you ppl know what i do when i talk..hehehe) In HK Items 1-15: all opposite from what I have in suzhou Now you understand why i rather stay back...heheheh :p Oh yeah, i ordered room service today....they gave me a goldfish :)

WALIAO~~

Have been to shanghai for N times, but have never really gotten to know the place...so, One fine sunday afternoon, jenn and i decided to go to the museum with a friend. He suggested, so we tagged along. THe museum is hugeEEee, imagine the quantity of treasure in that place :) it was really rushed tat day coz we went there pretty late, we only had one hour to explore...it was really full of treasure...wonder how ppl from 1000 yrs BC ago lived..it was incredible and that instance, i felt so proud to be part of china. Guess what this is??? it looks like something really hard, it's a PILLOW from 206BC!! how to sleep like tat? i would have neck pain and back pain after sleeping on it for 8 hrs a nite..gosh...luckily i am not born in tat time, or else i wouldnt enjoy going to bed so much...hehehe...
and i got to know shanghai so well last week....i came to suzhou with my manager on Monday and he was nice enough to pick me up at my hotel...traffic in Shanghai was terrible. Our initial plan was to leave at 8am, turned out my manager only arrived at 9 because of bad traffic...and to get from pudong to puxi to suzhou, it was like going from west to east to south...it took us TWO hours to get out of shanghai!!! after two long hours, finally, we could head to suzhou...UNFORTUNATELY, my manager missed the turning and we had to make a big U turn...the u turn took forever~~~after 3.5 hours, we finally arrived at our office in SUzhou...haha...u know, the train from shanghai to suzhou only took 30mins and from train station to office only abt 45 mins, TOTAL? 1.15hours...3.5hours could take us to nanjing already...but i enjoyed the car ride..it meant no need to work...ahhahaha...

Another face of shanghai

The interesting thing about shanghai is, it's a modern city but somewhere around the modern city, you still can see a big contrast....i stayed in pudong...it's also a very cosmopolitan area...i mean, really really cosmopolitan...but when u walk in the small roads, you could see the contrast very clearly..was taking a stroll with my sis along some streets and we both noticed that in such a modern city, you still could see the old part of shanghai...and you started to imagine the kind of lives they lived in before development...how interesting~~ And while we walked, i saw a really INTERESTING road name....but u have to twist ur mind a bit...hehehe...if u could pronounce it in Hakka, you would laugh till you drop... :D WUWAHAHAHAH....my sisters and my mum laughed so LOUD when i told them...it was really funny
