Life after E&Y

I always wonder what would my life be like after E&Y...i thnk for all external auditors out there, we all have the same question in our head. Is it really better out there? It's been 2.5 weeks since i last stayed in E&Y....Before leaving E&Y, I thought life would be a breezeEEEeee, ie no OT, goyang kaki (sit there and do nothing), more balance life style, no deadlines, no more IFRS, no more AFS, no more listing rules, no more pressure from managers and clients, no more AWS, no more filling in forms etc etc etc....but guess what? turn out tat it's only a distant dream for me :( My life now:

• >8 hrs with my colleagues..breakfast, lunch + dinner, by the time im alone, it's already XXXpm+++ (I thnk they should be tired of seeing me day and night..hehehe...);
• Weekly internal updates to our managers and head => means have to work hard before the update to come up with at least ONE issue and also means REPORT WRITING~~~;
• MORE forms to be filled in~~~;
• Tele-conferencing weekly~~ After learning how to use AWS in EY, i tot i know all abt technology...but now, I have to learn to use tele-conferencing dial out (whatever that is???)....okie okie, i admit, im not as advanced and i'm definitely a "cave woman" when it comes to technology :p;
• Weekly external update => u wont want to be involved....it means WAR!!!!!
• No time for tv, no time for shopping.....AAAAAAAAHHHHHhhhhh....SIGGGGggggghhh

Now, think again when you are thinking of switching jobssssSSssss.... heheheh

Husky and taylor

Who are they???? Taylor is my bro's big white dog in Singapore and Husky is jenn's tiny black puppy in kuching....Only "met" taylor in singapore last week after hearing so much abt her and seeing her in pics...she looks so cute in pics and even more adorable in "doggie" :) She doesnt bark and she quickly makes friend w me...i bring her out for Poo Poo and Pee Pee and she likes to smell this and tat, a curious doggie....she listens to instruction and when u say POTTY, she Poos and Pees...hehehe...clever huh? (Taylor: Yawn, I wanna sleep...woof woof) After seeing such huge doggie, husky appears so tiny ;p she's so cuteEEEeee...she's so naughty and when i eat rambutan, she wants a share as well...i loOOOove her as when i go home, she will come running to me and play w me :) ooo, this puppy eats durian as well...wat doesnt she eat? hahhaha....i like her jumping around....she likes to wag her little tail too :) Miss her now.... The GOOD old days

HOME SWEET HOME~~ there's no better place than home~~ It was time to go home again and everytime i go home, i feel so energised, so alived, so radiant :)) Missed Laksa and three colours tea AKA 三色茶(Teh C Peng)...yum yum..my favourite..of coz i wont forget other food as well, like bak kuk teh, nasi lemak, kolo mee etc etc...i have unlimited wants, but limited time...cant possibly eat everything in few days, i would become hippo one day...hiak hiak hiak...well, i wont show you guys the pic of Hippo (ie me) but i will show you some of the pics of my favourite food...i'm droooOOoooling :p (the LOOOOooveeeEEE of my life - RAMBUTAN~~~, i couldnt get enough of it and i even bot a few bunch and ate them while i was shopping around...) (3 COlours tea, AKA TEH C Peng, from Joys) (ooo, this place reminds me so much of my good old days while working in kuching...we used to come here for lunch all the time...and the tables are always not enough for my buddies) (TOmato fried noodles, from "joys" man!!!)

I'm waiting for my plane and at the same time, im enjoying myself at changi airport lounge...with free internet access, free flow of food and drinks etc etc...hehe..everything for FREE...thanks to my credit card company...ABN AMBRO ~~~ it's a holland bank....i didnt thnk it was tat useful until now...hahaha....

Once a familiar route

These are the pics of the route i usually used when i went to work, when i came bek from work, from play, when i went to meet my friends, did my chores, attended a party etc etc...these are the pics of NORTH POINT station...hehehe...notice on one of the pics tat it says "north point is my home"? it used to be mine..not anymore....this is the only station that has colourful drawings....and of coz, my friend's "za hua dao" => AKA anti chinese road...hahah... Snail~~

I remember a story from our uni lecturer abt a snail~~ it goes like this, one day, this gal receives a knock from the door, she opens the door and finds no one standing outside but a snail...so, she kicks the snail away to clear the doorstep...several months later, the gal receives another knock and the same snail is outside her door. WHen she is abt to kick it away, the snail screams and said, why did you kick me away just now? haha..get it? no? well, u might have to check ur IQ....tat's how slow i feel like during my 1st day at work :p I was pampered with internet access, sametime connection (for those who don't know, it's an internal chatting system provided by E&Y just like MSN), no come in office late and long lunch, or sneak off during working hours...i have to make it clear to avoid misunderstanding, i dont do these things much...i only witness other ppl doing it...hahhaha...well, the good thing is, we work effectively for 8 hrs or less, and we leave at 6pm sharp or earlier ;p I guess this is the pros and cons lor..just give and take gua....hehehehe...no pics for this post...i have to go search for a pic of snail...but with the speed of my internet connection, i thnk i will have to wait till tomorrow...let's just save the breath and let me add colours to it :)

North Point - my Home~~

Finally MOVED~~

Saturday the 20th of January was my MOVING day....finally ending the agony of moving...called a van to pick up my things to deliver to shatin...i was very confident that i could fit all my stuff into the van..hehee...afterall, i thnk i dont have alot of stuff...it was a pain to move my things...only when we moved them tat i was worried that one van might not be enough for my stuff...gosh, i had a lot of things too...shouldnt have laughed at my friend...haha....it was tiring eventhough i didnt do much except for guarding my things while my MACHO friends helped me moved, from my apartment to the pathway below, and from the pathway of Shatin to my friend's apartment....pity my friends..but luckily they are nice enough to help around..really appreciated it...let me show u some pics:

Pain of moving~~

I don like moving.....to me moving means the following:

• Trouble of looking and deciding where to move to (ie those that I have encountered during my pre-moving time @_@)
• Packing => seems like a never ending task....
• Clearing and cleaning old apartment in order to return the apartment to my landlord in good condition...ahem ahem, tat's because im a good and responsible tenant ;p
• the MOST troublesome => changing correspondence address :(( => the problem i have now is my rent is finishing on 22/1/2007 and I can only move in after I return from my assignment, ie in mid february. i don want strangers getting my credit card bills and my bank correspondence...i don wanna get unknown charges~~~ I borrowed someone's address but tat means, in one mths time, i have to go thru the same pain & trouble again..sigh~~~ oh, i have to pay extra HK$300 to switch my broadband service from my old apartment to my new apartment....so much cost involved just to save HK$2,400 per mth...hhmmm..come to thnk of it, it's kinda worth it...hahahaha...

my PooOOOoor foot

Woke up early as usual today....i haven't adjusted my brain yet and woke up at the usual working day time....I'm not working today~~~ Yeah yeah, but i will be starting my new job next monday :(( Since I woke up so early today, I might as well fully utilise my time...PACKING~~again..seems like a never ending task...hopefully it will be over soon....while i was packing my things into boxes of stuff, my floor was full of junks, rubbish and the likes...as busy as a bee...As I was concentrating on my chores, i stepped on a black paper clip...HARD and i hurt my foot...it's still bleeding :( my poor foot...how am i gonna walk~~~ I am limping, trying to finish my things...after xxx hours and hard work, i'm proud to say that I have finished 90% of my packing...where's the remaining 10%? the remaining 10% represents the things i use on my day-to-day requirement...such as shampoos, mousse, my computer, stereo, speakers and shoes.... One box + one luggage in April 2005 turned into this (pls see below) And here are the pics of my poooOOOoor foot (My foot with temporary "plaster" made by my own two hands...i like DIY stuff..hehehe) (This is the Culprit !!! >:( )

小肥羊

Went to 小肥羊("Little Fat Lamb") for steamboat with some friends in Mongkok just now...it was pretty good...had ying and yang soup base and with alot of yummy food to dip in...yum yum....it was a pretty good meal and business there was really really good...we spent most of our time talking abt finance, shares, property, accounting and how to make money..小肥羊is a chain restaurant in HK and around China and you can also find imitation in China called 小肥牛("Little Fat Cow"). My friend suggested me to open up another restaurant called 小肥猪("Little Fat Piggie")。 哈哈哈，好好笑。大肥猪("Big Fat Piggie") is a better name for it...hiak hiak hiak.. The whole meal cost us a fortune...but we all enjoyed it. Now i smell like 麻辣火锅 。 According to my friend, im now officially known as "辣"妹 (Spice girl) :p

Mixed feelings ^^/ :'(

Today is my last day with E&Y.... Yeah yeah ^^...but at the same time i feel sad :'( Afterall, it's been such a loOOoooong time...Knowing that I will not use the same route to and from IFC 2 (name of my office building) after today and will not walk in the familiar area anymore, felt kinda sad~~~I will miss the office, the area...but of coz not the workload :p It such a nice office~~~especially the 5-stars hotel toilets..heheh... (* *)y Bye bye my precious laptop (eventhough it's not officially mine, but i treat it like my own ;p), bye bye nice nice office (eventhough i dont like spending much time there except from 9am to 6pm), bye bye 5 stars toilets (they even have soft music in the toilets so that you could do your business with a relaxed soul and mind, how thoughtful~~), bye bye nice nice shopping mall below our office (no more shopping during lunch time and after work :( ), bye bye to everything.....I know i will still miss the office and the time spent there, but I welcome the new beginnning that im abt to embark ^^ Let me show u the pics of our office building

One week in beijing

Beijing seems so far to me~~ I always wanted to go to beijing as it's a land of history and mysteries...Finally i had the chance to go there and experience the wonders of beijing myself....it was one cold winter week...bbbrrrr...hehehe...went to all the places I saw on TV, tiananmen square, The forbidden city, The Great Wall etc etc etc....i didnt know one could do so much in beijing..it's like a dream come true for me...let me share with you some of the pics I took during the trip (^^)p

Friday the thirteen is known as black friday...but for a day to be DARK, it doesnt have to be friday & falls on 13th!!! Let me tell you why....Yday is supposed to be a HAPPY day because it's the day i finally sign my rental contract, after weeks of searching. But the so called happy day turned into a nightmare when: 1. the landlord suddenly threw tantrum at the property agent, saying that in his XXX yrs in business, he has never signed a single rental contract!!! He scolded for >10 mins and I have decided not to rent from him. His middle name is TROUBLE. 2. My motorala E1000 got stolen while I was having my breakfast. Guess I was too occupied with my apartment problem. Some ppl just 趁火打劫。I asked my friend to call my phone just after 2 mins, it had been switched off => Confirmed stolen....As per my Ex-colleague, 偷掉我电话的人，手烂掉!!! How cruel~~i mean the culprit :p 3. Now, me = apartment problem + phone problem. Have to get a phone ASAP...more thinking has to be done. 4. The property agent kept bugging me with other apartments that are out of my budgets. She even introduced me to an apartment with indecent businesses going on at night!!! Later, she told me to wait for another day as there will be a "nice" apartment. I asked her to stop bugging me coz I don't wanna drag it anymore. just want to get it over and done with. 5. After i rejected her, i called another person wanting to rent the apartment i saw the day before...after just less than 24 hours, the apartment has been rented out. I almost burst into tears in the middle of the Mongkok street...After what i have been thru :( 6. After getting a new phone in Mongkok (now me = Apartment problem - phone problem), went bek to TST to look for another apartment. Got fed up and rented a place without looking and placed my HK$1,000 deposit. Done. Case closed. Move in in Feb!! New Problem: Where to put my things after 21/1/2007????? SIGGGGGHHHhhh..ENDLESS problem!!!

My 1st Kiss

Went to Ocean Park....it has always been my dream to go to ocean park in hong kong despite having been to disneyland in hong kong...my friend told me tat if you have not been to ocean park it means u have never been to Hong Kong...in order to prove tat i have been and am living in HK, i must go to Ocean Park!!! went to ocean park on boxing day....well, i enjoyed the whole journey...but alll i could remember is tat, i spent most of my time Queeing up!! IT WAS SO CROWDED. man~~the rides are more adventurous than those in disneyland..and it's much much bigger than Disneyland.... :) It is also because of Ocean Park that i lost my 1st kiss......to seals...hahaha....i really enjoyed the whole trip...must thank my friend because my friend paid for the whole of my enjoyment ;p.... Real estate agencies

Hong Kong real estate agencies.....hhhmmm..what can i say about them??? After dealing with them for months, i find them not reliable and cheeky~~ why? let me tell you a story ( in indian tone) hehehe, looks like i like to make fun of indians..well, i have seen almost ALL of the real estate agencies in tsim sha tsui (AKA TST) and I have almost seen all of the studio apartments in TST...i have to say, im very very disappointed in the quality...they are expensive, small and with not so good environment...haha..u know why? mayb tat's becoz my budget is too low :p Well, i went to see alot of agents and i saw a few places that are nice...i almost rented but i didnt because the agents told me tat there will be another good apartment for rent the next day...so i waited and the next day came, the so called good apartment isnt good in MY own terms and ended up the one that i thought is better got rented out!! tats wat happened today!!! The agent brought me to an apartment which my friend and I consider as "in a pitiful state". It has really good renovation, but small..the worst thing is, it has no lift lobby, and i cant open the window to enjoy the air and sunlight....so i told the agent i wanted to consider..so the agent said, she would bring us to see another GOOD apartment the next day...which we have to be in TST by lunch time the next day...so my friend and I had to ditch our team members and went to TST just to see the apartment during lunch... it was such a rush...going all the way to tst frm HK island is not tat near and cheap...we had a quick lunch and only to find tat our agent was nowhere to be found?!! i called and turned out that she forgot to tell me tat the apartment could not be viewed today!! i was so angry tat i scolded her...(i dont normally scold ppl, but i was just too angry!!!!! AARrrrrggghhh) FLY me aeroplane???????? she said she was busy tat she forgot to call... ^(*@*)^ OINK oink

My friend gave me a piggie soft toy as xmas present last year. It looks like a normal piggie with pink curly tail and I didnt thnk much of it....It's very cuddly...love the piggie... :p Thx friend The pink creature looks like a normal soft toy until last nite, when i discovered something. I was watching movie with it, resting my head on it. Suddenly, I have the urge to "smash" my head onto its soft body. Out of nowhere, i heard the piggie sound OINK OINK...i laughed at my friend for trying to imitate the piggie, thinking gosh, my friend sounded just like a pig!! HAHAHAHA, turned out tat my friend isn't as talented as i thought, it was my piggie which made the oink oink sound....I was so surprised...it's no ordinary pig, because it TALKS!! haha...so cute, i like squeezing it to make the sound coz i feel like it's talking (eventhough i cant understand wat it's saying, but my friend does :) ) I love it even more now... Moving~~~~

Finally, after weeks of walking, looking and searching, i have finally found the place that i want. It's not the ideal place, but it's something close to it. It's within my budget, within my acceptable range, ie close to workplace, renovation is ok and size is just enough for one person. Phew, it's like a rock being lifted. Now, my pain is PACKING~~~ My current apartment is like a warzone right now, with limited space to walk on. I have to figure what to throw away and what to keep because my new apartment is just 140 sq feet big~~~it's not even as big as my car garage at home :( I will miss my apartment in North Point...been staying here for 1 yr 10 months already and it's really HOME for me. Oh, at least it's 400++ sq feet big and close to the ocean....My new apartment will be in the centre of the hussle bussle city of Tsim Sha Tsui....Dropby when anyone of you is in HK... Apartment Shopping~~~

It's such a pain to "shop" for apartment in HK....I'm planning to move to a new apartment that is closer to my new workplace....have been "shopping" for weeks and till now, i havent managed to find a place to stay...n i have to move next week!!! I have a few options...

The choices that are available to me are as follows:

1. Closer to workplace, more expensive, smaller space, older apartments; or
2. Further away from workplace, same rent, bigger space, newer apartments; or
3. Stick to my old apartment (only that i have terminated my rent and a new tenant will take over my apartment...which means, this option is OUT); or
4. Share with someone, which means i could get a place nearer to workplace, with same rent, bigger space and newer apartment; or
5. Get a small studio apartment that is prison-like to stay in.

After careful consideration, I have opted for the 4th option....only if i could find someone to share with me~~~ and i dont have much time left...HELP~~~
