我和 hello kitty 的艳遇

Last weekend, when my Onni and I were walking down the street...当我们在忠孝东路(没有走九遍啦)压马路的时候,无意中,我们发现了新大陆~~~猜是什么?嘿嘿嘿,我们想也没想到,一间看起来像卖hello kitty的精品店竟然是一间大型的hello kitty的餐厅...you must be wondering what kind of food they sell? well, it's not fish nor shrimp...they sell mostly desserts with hello kitty picture on it :) it was SOOOoooo cute....the moment we saw it, both of us went ~~~eventhough we are not a fan of hello kitty, it's still interesting to see such restaurant that we can only see on TV...unfortunately both of us were too full tat morning to eat, so we decided to come bek after our shopping...
so we walked and walked and walked and finally, we could fit in something...but at that time, both of us craved for taiwanese dessert, instead of walking back to hello kitty restaurant, we ended up in 鲜芋仙 (AKA king of taro)...so u can guess the rest of the story la~~~

BUT, my Onni and I are not those kind of ppl who give up easily~~~after 2 hours, we went back to the hello kitty restaurant....and found tat we had to wait 45 minustes for a seat...disappointed...so both of us decided to linger around to decide which cake we wanted to takeaway to eat in hotel (how sad~~~) and after 5 mins, they told us there was a seat for us!!! we were so happy...my Onni said, this is called fate..it's destined that we could eat here~~~*nodding* i agreed....

Due to 职业病,we noticed that there were alot of vacant tables le....so we both suspected that it must be their strategy....FIRST, they will make u disappointed by telling u that there is no seat, so that you feel that you should have booked the table earlier....SECOND, after being so disappointed, suddenly, they tell u, oh, u are lucky, there's a seat now...so we suddenly feel so happy that it's we are the lucky ones and it's fate with hello kitty....THIRD, it makes u feel that in the future, no matter what, u would book in advance and since it's so popular....but we were happy and excited anyway :))

(hello kitty 版的包青天。。。是灯光不足啦~~)

(hello Kitty on my cream brulee, yummy)

(oh, hello kitty 长青春痘了???!!!)

(oh no, hello kitty 被谋杀了。。。呜呜呜。。。好凄残。。。who is the murderer~~~)
below is my coffee...there was soOOoo much chocolate in my coffee...gosh...i guess choc is not expensive in taipei :p

my ONNI

Today, my topic is about my ONNI. You may wonder what Onni means...well, onni means older sister in Korean. As you all know, my sister has recently moved to HK to work and when we both have time, we would meet up and have drinks or dinner together...i remember 3 yrs ago, when i asked my sister if i should come to HK...she gave me tonnes of reasons why i should come...it's actually more like 1000 things you should do when u are young...hahaha..im just exaggerating lah..well, after her encouragement, i decided to take up the job and leave my home sweet home....and when i left, i asked her if she wanted to work in HK...her quick response shocked me~~~

Onni said: "NO"

i asked: "WHY NOT? u asked me to come?!"

Onni said: "because i cant speak cantonese"

I said: "i also told you i cant speak and you said i could learn???!!"

Onni said: "......"

well, she came afterall~~~and i must say, my sis's cantonese is not tat bad especially in the situation where she scolds someone...一线断...even i am shocked!!! haha..but if she is to make conversation, it will be as terrible as mine when i first came..but still better....i had dinner with her before i left HK and it was funny to listen to her cantonese...and it reminds me soOOoo much of my own....she was telling her friend excitedly abt her hiking story...and she was describing her colleague having cramps...and suddenly, her friend laughed and said, how come there was "CHICKEN"? my sis and i looked at each other, not knowing wat she meant...and i asked her to say it again...ooOOooo..hahaha...she said muscle (AKA 肌肉 Ji rou)...in cantonese, it should be pronounced as gei yuk...but instead, she said gai yuk (AKA 鸡肉 in cantonese)....we all laughed so hard...hahaha...

then she mentioned abt the famous goose restaurant in central...it's called 庸记...in cantonese, it's pronounced as yong (2) gei (2)...but my sis made it sounds like yong (1) gei (1) which means rear chicken in hakka~~~ my sis is so cute ^^

To eat or not to eat?????

I keep asking myself this question "TO EAT OR NOT TO EAT?" well, obviously my answer is "WHY NOT?" hehehe....for those of my friends to guess my answer, CONGRATULATIONS, you know me very well, unfortunately, there's no food for u...heheh..but i will eat on ur behalf :p and tat means, i will gain weight on ur behalf...*sob* *Sob* i think that's very touching....who would offer to do that but me :')

This weekend, the only thing on our agenda is FOOD and SHOPPING~~~my sis came all the way from HK to "play" with me...or should i say, encourage and help me to spend MORE money and eat MORE food that i already had :p it wasn't so bad to have some HELP~~~

We went to Shilin market for dinner...and also to get some bargain~~~i just LOVEeeeeeeeee taipei for its special "junk" food and cheap goods...well, not so cheap but lots of interesting stuff to see (or to buy) :p Two of us know that there was limited time, limited space for our tummy and too many wants (in terms of food), so we have to come up with a strategy~~~our strategy is???? very simple, just SHARE everything we buy...hahaha...so the 1st thing we did was to start with Crispy Fried Chicken Chop (oh gosh, the tot of it makes me hungry already, i swear im gonna return for MOREEeeeeeee) and to save time and look after our health, while i was Q'ing up for the chop, my sis went to buy Bittergourd juice...wat a good combination...hehehe...after tat, we walked around the "food heaven" and i bought a grilled pork sausage (my sis initially didnt like it but after a bite, she no longer despises it ^^), then my sis want to eat O-A-Jian (蛤仔煎)...Yummm...after tat, we bot two grilled spicy corn (for some reasons, both of us got the SMALLEST from the batch!!! we figured it must be becoz we both looked like foreigners :( ), then we bot quil's eggs, fake beef tounge jelly drinks.....and finally we ended our FEAST with TARO shao xian cao....gosh...heavenly~~~~

Imagine what we both look like nice? HIPPO...太多东西吃了。搞的我们意乱情迷~~~有心无力。。。

(yummy~~~this is the crispy spicy chicken chop...only RM5 nia~~~money for value) (this is jenn and my favourite "fake" beef tounge..it's made of flour + brown sugar :)) (Yummyyyy....spring onion egg roll)

(so many choices, but limted space)

(oohh..this is my idol's favourite food!!! 铜锣烧~~doraemon's favourite~~~)

After posting my post last night and having my strawberries, i went out again for a walk...supposedly, it was only for a walk, but it turned out to be a shopping spree~~~oh, i learned a slang Taiwanese use....just now, my client asked me:"你有去压马路吗?" my first reaction was 皱眉 (*Frown*) and she said oh oh, i meant 去逛街。。。哦哦哦压马路=逛街? how interesting? who ever thought of tat? really, they are too creative..hahaha... anyway, last night, i bot something for jenn...crap, i went into the shop...again because i thought nobody recognized me...when i stepped into the store, the sales girl asked, "oh, you came the other day right?" i flushed and said ya...sigh...this is the thing i had...ppl easily recognise me or jenn...guess we are too unique that it's engraved on ppl's mind the 1st time they see us :) ^^ i said i wanted to buy something for someone and she offerred to wrap for me....here, jenn...guess what is inside? hehhe...

oh, and after tat, i decided to walk further and i bot these...cute huh? but i just realised i shouldnt get the flower with white colour on it..my mum doesnt like...sighhhh :( i forgot...it just looked so nice on the sales girl's hair~~~you must be wondering what the red triangles are...hehe...guess what? u will never guess it...they are a pair of my kitty's ears~~~~~arent they adorable? gaining fat and wasting money program

arrived Taipei this morning and just now, had dinner w our client and we walked all the way from office to the restaurant..quite a long distance but i enjoyed the walk...it felt a bit like kch coz there are a lot of shops..just tat they have a lot of small stalls selling all kinds of food...and just now when i came bek to hotel, it was still quite early and my colleagues all retired back to the hotel...i felt heart imbalance coz i didnt do anything after dinner..and felt like wasting opportunity...so i went down myself wanting to get a bowl of hot xian chou (烧仙草)....then i walked walked walked and came across this pouch shop and i went inside..waliao..i so regret tat i left all my money at the hotel...but i still ended up with two pouch and one hot xian chou..hehehe...

My new pouch for the phone (pink angel) and new money pouch for my foreign currencies:

My favourite: Hot shao xian cao ^^ YUM

in the snow in the snow in the snow

it didnt snow yday in US and neither the day before but today, i saw snow flakes falling down from the sky for the FIRST time....

During break time today, my colleague from Singapore rushed in the conference room to tell us tat it was snowing outside..i went, WHAT???? so i rushed out, wanting to watch it with my own eyes..I asked my shanghainese colleagues to tag along but they looked at me oddly and asked me if i havent seen snow before....i said: "well, no" so i rushed out..it was such a beautiful sight...the whole car park was white outside and snow flakes kept falling down...it felt like xmas..again.....i quickly went in the room and asked my colleagues if they wanna go check it out...both of my shanghainese colleagues didnt seem so interested..so i said "oh, it was beautiful" so out of curiousity, they went out to see and i tagged along....my boss was looking out the window, then my boss suddenly asked who hasnt seen snow before and i raised my hand..he looked surprsied also..he must be thinking how come this gal so sua gu (山姑 AKA 乡巴佬)one....he asked me to go out and experience it...and i didnt want to coz i would be the only one to play outside...But my colleague from US was nice enough to offer to accompany me out...

The moment i was stading in the snow, i went "wow..it was awesome"..standing outside while the snow flakes fell on ur head and ur body :) felt like it was xmas :) and it was not as cold as in the morning before it snowed :)) almost have the urge to lie down and do the angel movement on the white snow ^^ i figured tat would be too dumb..hahaha..well, it was just a thought....^^

Jenn and my sis suggested me to make ice kacang out from the snow and they even suggested me to pee and shit on it...a bunch of weird sisters i have...hahha..and my friend is even worst, he asked me to make snowman...not by my very own hands but me, standing outside for a couple of hours and i could be the snow man...sigh...i felt so lucky to have such nice sisters and friend :)

our car was covered by snow...wow, just like in TV...pls excuse me, i know im being sua gu, but please bear w me that im from tropical country and i lived in Aust before and now HK...^^ anyway, i saw ppl using a brush to brush off the snow from the car...oooh, finally i figured out the use of the brush at the back of the car...initially, i thought it's for carpet cleaning purpose :p

We did play some snow ball fights after tat...hahah..it didnt hurt at all, so i kept throwing and being thrown at :') im so happy that i finally have experience with snow..well, i did take some pics but not extracted yet...will put them up when i have the chance ;)

US airport nightmare

I came to US again for conference...left HK on a tuesday afternoon and arrived airport early...i went to airport earlier on purpose coz i never get to experience comfortably and without rush the luxurious of the lounge...it was nice for a change...i got to relax and walked slowly in the airport...yup, i did smell the "flowers" ;)

well, i boarded my plane for LA...I will arrive at LA airport at 935am local time and i have to rush for my connecting flight at 1115am. I figured, i should have enough time but i was WROOOoooong!!!!

That day, i arrived LA airport at abt 930am...but it took SOOOooo long for the plane to find its gate and by the time we could walk out of the plane, it was already 945am...i was panicking already coz i wasnt sure if i could make it in time...and from the gate to the immigration dept, it was such a loOOoong walk!!! damn, i wonder why there wasnt any elevators or carts to take ppl around...anyway, i walked super fast and was ahead of everyone else...i was happy coz i tot i could be the 1st person to arrive at the immigration....but i didnt know how WRONG i was....i walked for 15 mins at 10km/hr before i arrived the immigration...

When i arrived, my jaws almost dropped..coz there was a very very long queue and looked like everyone was stuck at the immigration....it was 3 "layers" long with almost 0.1m spacing in between each person!!! i knew i wouldnt be able to make it in time coz the stupid immi officers are very slow in US and they have a lot of procedures to go thru...according to my friend, US officer means useless and slow officer...hahah..how true...why i said true, please continue reading...

I knew i would miss my flight if i stayed obediently in the lines...so i wanted to expedite the process by taking some action...then my light bulbs went on.... i saw this officer directing ppl to the gates and wasnt too busy, thinking that he might be able to help so i asked if he could help me by letting me cut Q as im gonna miss my flight..then he said, "you have to wait"...i looked at him, a bit puzzle and thinking that he might not understand me, so i explained that i would miss my connecting flight if i wait in line..guess wat he said??? he looked at me and said "you have to wait" I was SOOoo pissed!!! what kind of answer is that? so not helpful one???!!! and hence, he accomplished the title, USELESS...

so after the rejection, i stood in line and the line wasn't even moving at all...Knowing that if i did this wat i should do coz if i stood there and wait in the line, surely i would miss my flight..now i have less than 1 hour to go thru eveything..so i quickly asked the ppl in front of me if it was ok for me to cut Q coz i waslate for my flight..luckily these ppl were very helpful so i made my way to the front and went thru a long process in 15 mins...then after tat, i had to go thru custom..again, long Q...i hate US coz it's like a big india to me..v inefficient la..and definitely wt we called SLOW!!!

After dono how long, i made it out so i had to find my terminal...i only had 30 mins and i knew i had to act fast...so i quickly asked for direction and almost fainted coz the terminal that i was going to go is 4 big blocks away!!!! i ran like crazy with my luggage and backpack....the airport is so outdated tat they don even provide u with shuttle bus or air train...so i ran and ran and ran...and finally i got to the terminal and chekced in and luckily they let me in, quickly went through the scanning process (which could take hours as well if there was a crowad) and i still had 10 mins to spare...scary man...i really am speechless abt US....luckily there werent alot of ppl at the x-ray counter or i think i would just being FFK....i knew i could miss my flight and take the next one..but then my colleagues were waiting for me at the other airport..so i put in more effort to make the flight..if not, i would just rather be FFK'ed...i was sweating and panting heavily after the adventure... :(

my friends always asked me how come i always have a lot of stories to tell when i go to US...well, all i can say is, US is a very interesting country...^^

Here is the map and the route of my adventure at LA airport...

Sentimental side of Jane

I looked like this the day i left Kuching.....felt so sad that day because it meant it will be sometime before i could return home again to see my parents and jenn...and this time, my bro also came bek for a few days before he left Kuching with my mum on the same day as me...so, on Sunday, my dad and jenn had the whole house to themselves...ya..quiet house...

i had our favourite noodles at the kopitiam with my dad and jenn after sending my mum and bro to airport..their flight was one hour earlier than mine..so we all made sure that they checked in and we left for breakfast...

We grew up with the noodles..yummy..it brought back so much memories...amazingly, it was good to have breakfast at the break of dawn...we sat down at the table while it was still dark and we could still see twinkle stars on the black black sky...it was so quiet as there was no cars roaming around...there were a few stray dogs and cats walking up and down looking for food while we waited peacefully outside the kopitiam for the noodle man to come....when the sky was slightly red, a van with 4 ppl drove past the main road in front of us, turned in and parked in front of us...it was the noodle man with his gang...ooo...it also meant our breakfast had arrived....

I didnt know tat i would still meet my mum and bro at the departure hall when i entered...or else, i'd have "ta bao" the noodle for them to enjoy...after they boarded, i sat at the bench by myself, looking out the glass window, overseeing the mountains just outside the airport...KUCHING is indeed a beautiful place....i didn't notice until it was time to leave...when i was sitting in the plane, knowing that the plane would take off at soon, i stared at the surrondings of the moving plane, trying hard to see everything and remember everything the way it is....and my tears couldn't stop from falling :'( Miss my parents, jenn, everything abt kuching and my friends and also my relaxing vacation....

the pic above is my cute little nephew...hehe..isn't him adorable? don't get it wrong, i didnt bully him...he cried coz his aunties (AKA jenn & me) were leaving town.
