stubborn or strong neck????

In india, you can see alot of ppl carrying things on top of their heads...well, if it's only a basket or a bucket, i think it could be easily done...if it's a BIG sack of rice or flour or just miscellaneous things, i have to say, i admire their "head kung fu"..like in one of those stephen chow's movies...铁头功...should i say they have strong necks or they are just too stubborn??? hehehe...

I was talking to an US guy during bfast the other day..he's the managing director of L-tech and he said, he went to their branches all over the world, giving ppl instructions on how to do certain things..he has no problem with China ( ^^ YAY!!!), but when it comes to india, he alsmot fainted...he gave instructions to 500 ppl and at the end of the day, he has 500 different methods!!! the reason being, they think it's more logical to do what they are doing....hehehe..well, im sure most of you can understand the paiinnn~~~poor guy

Shitty

If you think your life is shitty...take a look at the pics below.....
cow dunks, goat dunks and horse dunks are found everywhere on the streets of india, if you don't pay attention while you walk, you will step onto one of these :p
Well, to see animals roaming around the streets isn't that strange to me...we have seen it before..but to my colleagues from HK and Spain, it's something they have never seen before ;)

Achievement

These are my achievements after the whole week in india...i think i made a really good bargain...hehhe..bot a silk scarf for mum....it's not that cheap but nice... (These are the ying yang elephants :) (I haven't figured out what to do with these things...they are the things i bot outside the temple~~~)

Mysore~~~, India

(The 1st temple we visited...it's Huuuggeee....)
Went to Mysore yesterday with my colleagues...Mysore is another city 3 hours from Bangalore....we booked a taxi and left early in the morning...luckily traffic wasnt that bad~~~phew~~~ I have to say, the streets of bangalore look very different in the daytime than what i usually only see at night....street lights are pretty bad at night...except for the cars around you, you don't quite see other things beyond that....
Daytime bangalore -> dusty, muddy, crowded (both cars and ppl), old buildings, bulls everywhere, horse & horse carts, temples everywhere, old shoplots...and of coz plenty of rubbish...
anyway, we reached Mysore at around noontime...our driver took us to an indian temple...the moment i stepped out of the car, a lot of beggars surrounded me...in addition to that, all the merchants also surrounded me, forcing me to buy sourvenirs from them...headache immediately and scared at the same time, i ran to my colleagues who were also surrounded by them....i used the car door to block them from flocking in....and almost screamed for help...We ignored them, kept walking towards the temple with our friend driver, they followed us, yelling and forcing....i didnt even have the chance to take proper pic...the funny thing is, when i asked my colleague to take pic of me, all of them stood beside my colleague quietly while the pic was taken..after tat, the yelling and forcing continued~~~haha...
India is full of temples and they look all the same to me~~~the temples are magnificent!!! the whole of temples are made of STONE....i don't know how they craved the statue, it's just amazing (Like how my spanish colleague also said...amazing for good and bad things..hehehe)
(this is the second temple at the top of a hill)
There are mosques and churches as well, but not chinese temple....apparently, indians have Monkey God as well... :) after visiting temples, we went to a royal palace....i have to say, the royal family had alot of "visitors" yesterday...hahaha....
(this is the palace...doesn't it look like one of those palaces from fairy tale? hehe)
(i'm one of the "visitors" yesterday :) )

Traffic in Bangalore

I can't begin with any words to describe the traffic in Bangalore...you have to be here in order to understand!!! One dinner will take us 4 hours easily~~~ if you think the traffic in China is bad, take a look at the clip below...Let me tell you, China is nothing compared to India....there are no lanes on the road...the road is always crowded by 4 lines of cars, and they never keep to their own lanes, they see a "hole" in between, they squeeze in...after my long car ride yesterday, we found out that they actually like to drive in the middle of the road (???!!!)...i think they just can't make up of their mind which way they wanna go....hehehe...
oh yeah, in india, u can hear "music" on the road as well...hehe..Let me tell you why (In my indian accent), their horns have music, indian music....it's either doremitido, dosomisodo, domimifafa...cute...horn is just too common in india...it's their way of road communication - "hey, get out of my way", "watch out, i'm coming in fast", "hey, gimme some space", "STICK TO YOUR OWN LANE!!!" hahah...the view is amazing, it's just wat u always see on internet....you see a bus full on ppl, on top and at the sides...how did they get down of the bus? yup, they JUMP off....if you have ever watch mission impossible or speed, you know wat i'm talking abt~~~ bollywood better than hollywood? Yeah, definitely!!

Electricity Outage~~~

Haven't been updating my blog due to the following reasons: (this is what i called 职业病)
  • REALLy x10000 bad traffic jam in Bangalore..eventhough we reach hotel at 615pm, start our journey to dinner at 630pm, we still ended up at the dining place at 830pm :(...we are always starving at night coz we skipped lunch in the afternoon...ppl are taking their time for the food to come, usually ended up arriving hotel after dinner at around 10 something;
  • Internet connection in hotel is too expensive...i managed to get the prepaid card which only last 24 hours (even if you don't use) today; and
  • too concentrate on work during working hours (:p).

Let me sum up, no time to update during and after office hour and/or no internet connection.

After being in Bangalore for a week, i have to say, the most common thing besides roti canai and curry, it's electricity outage....i remember the 1st day i arrived, i wasn't used to it...i was in the hotel watching TV, suddenly, POOoooP, it went dark...i panicked and started to wonder around, looking for the phone....then 30 seconds later, the electricity came bek...it happened for a few times tat nite...the next day, i was at the restaurant taking my bfast with my colleagues, there it went again....my colleagues started yelling, "NOT AGAIN!!!" and 30 secs later, the electricity came bek....hahaa...i now realised that it's just as common as roti canai and curry...it's so normal to them...before blacks out, they stand there, during black out, they stand there, when the lights come bek, they are still standing there....hahaha....No scurrying around looking for lights, no yelling and cursing, NOTHING!!! later, i found this sign in the lift....i am always tempted to take stairs in the hotel coz i don't want to be stucked...so far, it's still ok :p

圆的不是扁的, 扁的不是圆的。。。

Today is my 1st day having REAL interaction with my indian colleagues....IA is all abt communication with our clients and writing down what information we are told and asked....sadly, I find it very HARD to understand my client.... :(( just now, i spent most of my time asking him to repeat what he just said and repeating what he said to him to confirm...i was doubling our interviewing time :( Guess im not used to the accent yet...and YUP, they do talk with their heads shaking...they shake their heads when they say YES....hhhmmm...which i find misleading~~~ hehehehe.... I had a pretty sad lunch today....at their canteen~~~ two pieces of small roti canai and a few crackers....will try to do better tomorrow..their spice curry tasted WEiiiirrrdddd....oh, Bangalore is quite nice...just a bit desert like...dusty and traffic is really really bad.... I am 2.5 hours younger here!!! YAY!!!

thank you all :)

on another note, i may not be perfect in some areas but at least i can see myself progressing in other areas...i still have alot of areas to work :) At least i'm trying to be a better person than i already am...hehehehe....it's just a food for thought...something worth reflecting....hope we all grow to be wiser and better...cheers

India here i come

Am going to Bangalore, India this sunday...sigh....i sighed because i have to waste the whole of my sunday on the plane~~~~I still haven't thought of what to do in the plane....most probably watching movie and playing games on plane...but i will try to discipline myself to study a bit....i have an exam at end of May and i haven't even read a single line...im doomed~~~
well, i don't know about the trip to banglore...my colleagues who just came bek from there kept shaking their heads...oh oh, i know what that means :( well....guess i will just have to ...honestly, im not so excited about the trip :( but i think this will be a good opportunity to travel around india as I don't think it's a place I would pay to visit....oh, i saw the photos my colleagues took already....they are quite "colourless"......
I will definitely share my life in India with all my friends....maybe i could even see a few indians running around, chasing each other while singing...(*WINK* *WINK*, you know what i mean~~~ bollywood~~~hehhehe)
I have no idea where bangalore is, so i went to the net and did some research....looks like i have a few places to visit during weekends~~~!!!

Foodilicious :p

Even though I went to taipei 2 weeks ago, i still cant help reminiscing street food of taipei....the taste, the smell and of coz, the texture :) I took pics of the food that I had taken in taipei...well, at least some of them just so tat i could remember how they look like before they end up in my tummy...hehehe...I didnt take most of them because i was busy eating them instead of taking pics of them....hehe..the thought of the food makes me hungry and drooOOOoooling.....
(typical taiwanese street food....tempura?)
in addition to food, i also had foot massage in taipei...it was too tired to walk for days....after having NUMEROUS foot massages in sz, i still prefer those in sz...not because it's much cheaper in sz but because of the method they are using....sz is much more gentle whereas taipei.....i yelled OUCH out loud all the time..they used their finger bone to press against ur feet bones....it was awfully painful :'( Luckily i had those street food to cheer me up ...hehheh.... (^ ^)y
(Yummy, this is one of my favourites....fresh strawberry with milk ;p)
(better than ang tao peng? yum yum)

MOVING again~~~ :(

Just remember 2 months ago, i finally ended the agony of moving...now, nightmare is repeating itself :(( yup, it's moving time again~~~ well, this time is much better as I don't have to go thru the process of looking for a place...i will be moving in with my friend :) which makes the whole process a lot less stressful...
Luckily i haven't unpacked most of the time...or should I say, I didn't have much time in HK to unpack...haha...phew~~~ eventhough tat's the case, my place is still a pig sty...let me tell you why...
My current apartment (or room) is so small that I don't have space to put my belongings...they will be all over the place...i never seem to be able to find my things and I would have to go thru all boxes for hours...only to find that my thing is just lying behind my laptop!!! Hopefully, by moving, it will end my misery...
must fully utilise the 5 days holiday....i sympathise my friends coz just 2 months ago, they had to help me move and 2 months after, they have to help again.....luckily they are a bunch of kind hearted ppl and are willing to lend their hands...in return, it shows how MACHO they are....hehehe....
(oOoopps, it's usually not tat messy...im in the midst of packing...tat's why (^^) )

Water town 水上人家

Went to 南浔(nan xun) last saturday....it's a "water" town 2.5 hours away from Shanghai city by car...took a bus there early in the morning...supposed to have weather change and thunder storm tat day, surprisingly, the weather was very good....i must be very tired coz i slept throughout the whole bus ride... I have seen ppl living "on" water before in Pondianak...in comparison, this is like a heaven...the scenery is like a potrait...you could take pictures at any angles..all pictures taken are like pieces of expensive potraits :)
(This is one of my masterpieces ^^)
Spent a day over there, walking around the town area...their specialties are 麦芽糖 (Sticky but does not stick on your teeth) and 芡实糕 (it was like eating flower petals)...yum yum...i did ate both of the delicacies...love them love them ^^
If you know China History, then you must come....there are alot of rich officials from the qing dynasty...all we do whole day was visiting their homes...and of coz the streets of nan xun...i love that place...the main transportations are boat and tri-cycles...really a polluted free area...too bad ppl are not civilised enough, rubbish could be found in the river....oh, and ppl wash in the river the traditional way...i would hate washing if tat was wat i had to do to wear clean clothes!!! (refer to the pic above)
(me, me, ME)
(look at the reflection on the water...this is actually a pond in one official's home....HUUuuuggeee swimming pool **)

上海滩 (Shanghai Tan)

Haven't been updating my blog for quite sometime...was in Shanghai last week~~~ (^ ^)y Shanghai has always been one of the places i wanted to visit...was very excited abt the trip....Pudong Airport is Huge, it looks a bit like KLIA or HKIA...that's a typical look for airport i guess...hehehe....After checking into the hotel, went sightseeing with my friends and had our 南翔小龙包...one of the famous Xiao Long Bao restaurants in Shanghai....took a stroll around 城皇庙...the streets were full of tourists and little shops selling sourvenirs, food, desserts etc etc...one could not resist not buying anything :p I love the night view of Shanghai....went to the famous Shanghai Tan on one of the nights...the view was AMAZING...felt like i was in HK, standing on Avenue of Stars, overlooking the night view of HK Island...I just love it.... (these are two of the oldest buildings and area in Shanghai Tan...they look magnificent!!!!) After the walk around the area, we went for a drink at PEACE HOTEL (和平饭店)...if you watched the series "Shanghai Tan" before, u will know abt this place :) ... the place where we had our drinks is called 夜上海 :) and it's at the rooftop of Peace Hotel...this is one of the pics i took from the rooftop... :))

Cherry blossom

Went to taipei for weekend 1 week ago :) All i can remember about the trip is eat, sleep, eat somemore...hahaha...the outcome? becoming 肥妹 (ie FATSO)...it was a good time to go to taipei as it is the season for cherry blossom....since i havent had the chance to go Japan for cherry blossom, taipei is a good alternative... went to 阳明山 on a rainy, cold sunday morning...woke up early in the morning to catch a bus there...after an hr of bumpy ride, I finally arrived at the famous park...I searched around for cherry blossom...but couldn't find any.....the scenery at the park was breathtaking...and so I took a hike up to the mountain...the further i walked, the more breathtaking the scenery was and finally, I saw cherry blossom...真是人间仙境啊:p....皇天不负苦心人...i have seen cherry blossom in HK...they are usually in the shopping malls...but to see cherry blossoms with mother nature, the sight is just....AWESOME!!! Here are some of the pics i took...
(Top: streetful of cherry blossom; Bottom: close-up of cherry blossom...hey, i took the pic, i think it looks great~~~~)
