This year, we finally get to spent our CNY in Kuching! mum decided to go to Damai.. it's been a while since we last went.. i couldnt remember when i last went to Damai. haha.. i remember when we were young, the best place to go is Damai Beach... ah.. childhood memory!
Because we booked too late, we managed to book Camp Permai instead.. i vividly remember Camp Permai as living on the treetop. i guess that would be too much for mum to climb up the stair case so we booked cabin instead. I wonder how it looks like....
That day, like when we were young, we finally packed our stuff to go the the nearby resort.. somehow, i feel we are strange.. we are just going to the somewhere nearby area but still need to pack a lot of things. haha.. we bought junk food, water just in case. If there is nothing to do at night, at least we could watch TV.
we drove through the familiar way to Damai.. crossed the bridge & river.. so much memories floated back to my mind.. i remember dad and mum liked to go Buntal for seafood a lot, so almost every weekend, dad would drive us there. We would play at the back seat.. coz my mum likes to put Tilam at the back of my dad's Land Cruiser so that we could rest. One of mum's great ideas! i remember before the bridge was built, we could only travel to Damai by boat... i remember we did it once.. board the boat near White Hair's house... then alight at the port in Santubong, change to bus.... it was a long journey... the bridge is one of the greatest construction ever. hehe.. then in the car ride, we would always sing songs. It was fun :))
As usual, before going to Damai, we dropped by Buntal to see whether there were any catches of the day and also checked out dinner place... the Village is still cozy...
Finally we arrived at Camp Permai! lots of trees indeed... actually it's kinda nice, just like living in forest... except with nice house.... but it's long walk from the reception to the Cabin... i think the person who designed this is trying to make the place as original as possible so that people can experience the life of forest..
Below is the view from our cabin.. the sight is cozy... turned out, there is no TV in the room and no internet... haha.. so Jenn and I slept at 930pm! this is the life of ancient people i guess :D
The next day, we were woken up by sound of rain.. oh, it was raining outside... kinda made the atmosphere nicer.. the problem is, we had no umbrella! we need to walk about 5 mins to go to the breakfast area... so the clever Jane and Jenn came up with an idea... why not we use the towel in our room as umbrealla? good ideaaaa... so we walked slowly in the rain.. enjoying the smell of rainforest and the peacefulness...
This is the place for breakfast.. an open space restaurant. this reminds me of the kinda life that many people wanted to have...so they fly to overseas to experience it... why spend so much money when u can have it in KUCHING?!
Our breakfast~~~ yummy! nice breakfast in the cool breeze with such wonderful view... there was nothing but peacefulness :))
