Life in QD

Seafood is the most popular in QD....we had seafood everynight...to be honest, i'm starting to get sick of seafood :p we had sharkfin soup, abalone, seacucumber every night. After the feast on saturday, i just felt like having normal food. I went to starbucks for sandwich and coffee...AAAHhhh, so satisfying...actually i felt like a bowl of fish ball soup....

Highlights of QD

Stay over for weekend coz I wanted to explore the city…I don’t want to be in a situation where I have been in qingdao for two months and not been to any place at all…so this week, I have decided to stay in qd….it was a right decision….that day, our company driver took my friend and I to Laoshan. well, this is the most famous place in QD and it turned out to be soOOOooo true, coz the place was MOUNTAIN PEOPLE MOUNTAIN SEA. Haha, indeed very mountain-y :)Weather was pretty good for the past 2 weeks..but this week, it was super hot and super sunny~~~ it was so hot that I really didn’t have the mood to hike. We took cable car up and started climbing…the STAIRS…there were a lot of tourist attractions, but we only managed to get to ONE….i have to say, the place is very popular and touristy… (A pic of how laoshan looks like...pretty rocky) After our torture climb, we went to a seafood feast. All of my FIRST times were gone. 1. first time having raw sea cucumber, dipped in wasabi sauce and it will harden. Taste like chicken bone. Yummy~~~

2. first time having drunken raw prawns. The prawns were still jumping up and down when they poured the wine in…again, yummy but cruel L I still prefer the old fashion type of prawns…ie COOKED

3. first time having FRESHLY picked peach, straight from the tree….so deliciously sweet…peachilicious :p

4. First time having Fresh beer in plastic bags (Me with freshly brewed beer at beer street...have to drink from straw..cool~~~)

The driver told us that everything is fake in QD. 1. Fake taxi

4. Fake dried seafood (those that are supposed to be made in QD) I thought I could trust the driver, turned out, he’s one of them as well. He took us to buy fresh peach and we saw this stall at the roadside and he asked for bigger peaches. He asked my friend and I to pick peaches with the farmer in the farm..so we did..happily picking our very own peaches…and it was super big…yum..we were so excited abt it. There were TWO big bags of peaches and were put at the trunk…after we went back to the hotel, I was happily waiting at the trunk, waiting for my peaches…who knows, he got another two bags from the back seat and gave to us. I was a bit shocked. TWO BAGS OF PEACHES TURNED INTO ONE BAG OF SMALL PEACHES AND A BIG BAG OF PEAR...sigh (so many peaches but they are stolen from us :()

Transformers ROCKS!!!

Finally, after waiting for N days or weeks, I finally get to watch transformers!!! And it is also the FIRST movie I watched in China…Everybody has been telling me how great and awesome the movie is…which makes me want to watch so badly…the problem is, I never have the time to watch….planned to watch in HK last weekend, ended up meeting up with friends for the whole weekend….was so sad and disappointed and worst come to worst, I would just buy the DVD….but last nite was a turning point, I’ve decided to materialize my “dream”….hahaha…so after dinner, without checking in the hotel yet, I went to the movie together with my friend…

It was a hot summer nite….(sigh, the cool weather days are gone since Monday..how sad..) it was really really really hot…I was sweating badly before we arrived the cinema…thought I would get cooled down in the theatre (well, usually ppl in kch have to put on jackets when they watch movie), well, in qingdao, it’s nothing like that, we were so hot tat all of us feel like taking off our clothes…we know better to control ourselves…hahaha….THEY DIDN’T EVEN TURN THE AIRCOND ON…during the movie, it was quite ok, coz I tried to cool myself down by thinking 心静自然凉 kinda theory…it was useful in the beginning…as the movie progressed, it got better and better, more and more exciting and also the warmer I felt…finally, I was sweating in the movie~~~ I guess the excitement brought the heat….gosh…it was terrible but the movie was too good that I just didn’t care…. TRANFORMERS ROCKS!!! It’s the movie of the year for me….i will get the DVD and watch it over and over and over….it’s childhood memory…honestly, I had no idea why they fought at all before I watched the movie…now I know…hahaha…and I asked tat question to everyone I know, they said the same as me…standard answer is “they fought because they want to protect the world~~~” :p

Flying back to Hong Kong from Qingdao today for weekend~~~well, i don't normally go back to HK in the middle of my assignments, but this time i come bek because i have visitors \(^^)/

Guess who i shared a plane with today? heheh..u won't believe it...i met 蔡少芬, 召美琪, 陈豪 and 3 other ppl who are now currently shooting in qingdao.. I had a close encountered with the star -> chai and me 擦身而过, side by side and touched me on my shoulder...she is very thin in person, her skin is very nice and quite tall...just a little bit shorter than me..quite pretty..chen is very tall and zhao looks very young...she's really good in keeping herself in "good condition"...wonder how she does it....

it's so funny...i was like 不知不觉。。。 i was sleeping and reading all the time in the plane and my colleagues kept talking and talking non-stop...then suddenly my colleague told me tat she wanted to go to the front to take magazines...i was a bit puzzled...well, tat's because we sat quite far behind...i was thinking "why go all the way to the front to get a magazine when the back is closer?" then my other colleague told me abt the stars sitting in the front and my first reaction was "i wanted to go get magazines as well"...hahah..but i didnt...after tat, chai got up and walked to the back for toilet and i told my colleague, im going to toilet, which i really needed to go before she went.......and i was standing behind her...alot of ppl stared at her..she must have felt unnatural while waiting in the Q...before she could complete her chore, chen came and called her to return to her seat and she walked past me, side by side touching my shoulder...YES, i already showered...ahha...i'm not crazy about her...she has black teeth though..sayang~~~~

Qingdao is actually a very pretty city…I just realized when I saw the lights of the city from the airplane….i tot kuching is the only city that has the prettiest lights when u are 10000000+++ feet away from the ground…last Sunday when I flew back from Shanghai, I looked at my windows sleepily, hoping it would arrive fast as the seat was pretty cramp….then suddenly, a dark cloud passed by and a bright piece of land appeared…instantly, I was fully awake…I had a sense of familiarity…it reminded me so much of my home town, my dear kuching  except it’s a lot bigger and brighter….unfortunately I couldn’t take any pics….or Im sure all of u would be as wide awake as me….to compensate myself, I took some pics of the view outside my hotel…it’s not tat bad coz im staying at the top floor already…but it’s still not the best….this city is clean, wide, weather is good etc etc…most importantly, the qingdao beerrrrrr….yummy…it tastes much much better in qingdao….creamier, tastier, more golden….and it’s FRESH…you get it in plastic bags….gosh….how is tat possible????

午夜凶玲 or 见鬼

I guess most of us must have seen these movies….and how can we forget them? Im sure nobody would want anything like those in the movies to happen to them…well, im definitely one of them….no no, I don even want them to be in my dreams~~~ well, my nightmare came to live to haunt me every single day since I got to Qingdao…let me tell you why (in indian tone and shaking my head…ahaha) For some reasons, the lights in the office building are usually not switched on, all of the windows are covered up to avoid sunlight (yaaa, im starting to sound spooky), there are a lot of dark corridors and staircases, and there are MANY doors that I dono which one leads to which one~~~ well, it took me a week to find my way…my colleagues even got lost in the building!!! Ya, it’s that spooky…look at the photos below…the only light we could see is the “exit” light which is green…the moment we open the door, we could only see greenish dark corridor leading to our room…one time we were shocked coz we only saw dark shadow coming towards our direction….phew..luckily it is not “ghost” festival or I think I would be scared to death already…. well, the truth is, the office is a manufacturing plant for electronic parts and they are sensitive to dust, so the building has to be built in a way to keep them from getting dirty….tat’s why… This is what I have to go thru to go anywhere…the moment I open our conference room door, this is what I get~~~ (BOOOOOOooooo.....ahaha...this is like one of the scenes in 午夜凶玲)

Life in QD

Am already in QD for 1 week ++...supposed to have more wonderful blogs coming in but for some reasons, i cant access my own blog through Shangri-la's internet...weird...why i paid RMB40 for not able to use my own website..sigh...i want my money back!!! hehehe..well, generally, QD is a very nice place, nice beach, most important of all, NICE & COOL weather...I like i like...:) the downside is, our office is 50 mins from the city, so we have to wake up very early every morning just to get there by 9am...crap...im seriously lack of sleep :( ate alot, put on lots of weight...now when i walk, my tummy vibrate, when i jump, my face vibrate, when i wave, the skin of my arms vibrate....im becoming FAT & FLABBY....ooooo..this is the only motivation for me to go to gym everynite....

HK's 10th Anniversary 香港特區回歸十周年

"> Just celebrated my 100th post annivesary last week and was celebrating another important event last sunday!! if you watched TV or read newspaper or from watever source, you must know that it was 10th Anniversary for HK's handover to China...YEAH!!! \(^^)/ That day, we watched the magnificent fireworks show in the middle of Victoria Harbour...it has been raining everday ever since i came bek last monday nite...but sunday, not a drop of rain...COOL~~~i still remember myself, watching the Handover on TV in Perth 10 years ago and thinking how grand the event was and how proud we are to be CHINESE...and 10 years later, i watched the whole event with my own eyes~~~unbelievable~~~how young was i then compared to now....hhhaaarrr....time sure flies, don't u think?
