DOOMED!!!!!

Life is like a box of chocolate….life can be good if you pick a yummilicious chocolate and life would be a living hell if you pick a yucky one…but chocolate itself is easy, if you pick the wrong one, just throw it away…in reality, you will have to endure any rotten apples that come your way…that’s life…why am I so philosophical? Well, let me tell you a story (in sad Indian tone).

Two weeks ago, I was a happy girl…I got to go to KL for two weeks, on business trip…that means I could go back to kuching over the weekends…I guess happiness is always short and life could never be always smooth and sweet…coz a disaster happened….as usual, I was working very hard and woke up at wee hours everyday and arrived office before EIGHT am everyday…I was shocked at myself for doing this coz it was ages ages ago since I arrived office before 8am…I guess I must be exhausted from waking-up-early-worked-till-late-at-night type of life, so I became tired and sleepy during daytime…the fact that we had short period of time in KL and there were tones of things to complete…so I took up some workload as well (poor me L) one day, while I was drinking out from a bottle, my colleague came and asked me things…so naturally, I put down my drink to attend to him..yup, I’m a responsible person…after talking to him, I accidentally knocked on the bottle and it fell on my laptop…water spilling on my keyboard…it didn’t occur to me that I had to shut down my laptop to me…I continued to work, hoping I could finish as much things as possible….only after 15 mins when I saw water coming out from my battery did I realize that I need to shut it down….i didn’t know why I didn’t shut it down when water spilt…I guess because I thought it was water but not coffee/tea :p… CONSEQUENCE? My hard disk is burnt!!! I lost all information in my laptop…I didn’t feel as painful when I lost those documents…I was REALLY painful to know that I couldn’t get any of my emails back!!! It’s 2.5 years of emails…imagine how much valuable information I had in there…sigh….life is harsh~~~~ The moral of the story?

  1. Please shut down your computer once you spill water on it….i didn’t know why I didn’t do it..it’s commonsence right? Sighhhhhhhhhh….
  2. Please do not drink while you are in front of your computer….you never know what would happen
  3. Please keep the cap of your bottle water LOCKED at all times if you can’t avoid….
  4. Please rest well so that you don’t do anything clumsy like me

Choose one that suits you…don’t learn it the hard way like me…

laugh of the day

Was in Shanghai last week….had dinner at the hotel with my colleague…initially we decided to go to town for dinner but because we had tones of things to do before dinner time, we decided to have dinner at the hotel….so, we stood in front of the restaurants, not knowing whether to have Japanese or Italian…so a very nice lady came to our help and told us Italian is not bad..so we decided to give it a shot…she sat us down in a very nice spot and paid a lot of attention to my colleague and i…not tat we were the only table in the restaurant..there were still other tables…anyway, tat was not the point…so we looked at the menu and ordered our food…then after that I asked my colleague, whether I saw it wrongly, the name tag of the lady is “internet”…we were wondering if that’s her name or that’s her area of responsibility…so we looked at other waiters’ name tags and found tat they didn’t say kitchen or front desk…so that must be her name then…we laughed a bit….during the course of our dinner…friendly “internet” always came and asked how our food was, took our dirty utensils away, giving us bread and explaining the use of vinegar and olive oil….then when I was indecisive about my dessert choice, she came to my rescue again..so we both thought her service was good…just at the end of the meal, a waitress came and passed us an evaluation form….while waiting for the bill, I decided to fill in the feedback….food is good, service is good, choice is good, price is poor (too expensive), portion is ok etc etc etc….i stopped at the last question…not knowing what to say….the form asked: “what do you enjoy most about the restaurant”…..well, my colleague and I both think internet is very friendly and helpful…I wanted to put down “internet’s service is very good”…hahaha..but I felt funny…why on earth would someone called herself internet? She wants to be worldwideweb? Highly computerized? I wonder if there is anyone called broadband or dial up? Hahaha…anyway, I did put down “internet’s service is very good” ….i couldn’t stop laughing while I wrote that comment…interesting name…..

I remember my sis told me that she once met a 米田共 (SHIT) who served her at the front desk…she was greeted by SHIT and my sister was tempted to say, hey shit, I’m good shit. Thanks for your concern shit….i wonder how many times he was being scolded each day…good morning shit, hey shit, oh shit, bye shit, take care shit, thank you shit….i couldn’t stop laughing even as I typed this sentence…I met universe before…storm was another interesting name…one called Wednesday, a guy called lucky and another called crazy…someone called bianbian (:D), hawk etc…I can go on and on and on about interesting and unique names…. :p

Hope i made your day~~~~

当当当当当?

was having fun in taipei eating and meeting friends....when ah fai and i were walking around sogo area looking for food, i came across this sign...i laughed so hard coz i remember the time when i was having dinner in HK and i wrongly read the menu vertically which was supposed to be read horizontally...hence, the name of the food and beverages all sound kinda weird....if you don't remember what i had done to humiliate myself, pls go to here. So i learned my lesson but it still brings back some fun memories...so when i was strolling in taipei, i saw this really funny sign...if i read it like i did at that time, i would definitely have to bury my head in the concrete wall and never lift my head ever again....hahaha :D oh, but then again, most of the writing in taipei is actually read vertically whereas in HK, it's mostly horizontally...i guess if i made a mistake, i could just blame on this...how convenient...hahaha...

candy

went to taiwan and got these cute candies back...i remember one day in taipei, my friend told me that she bought something interesting and she took it out so excitedly and put in on my hand...and looked at it oddly and thought "oh, it's a packet of sanitary pads with cute cartoon design...but i dono what is so special about it", in order not to "splash her with cold water", i smiled happily back and went, "oh, that's a nice packet of sanitary pads"...then she laughed so hard and told me to look closely, it was sanitary pad mashmallow...haha..now i got her...so before i left taipei, i got myself many packets...i dono why whenever i go to taipei, i would have tonnes of things to bring back..so that time, because of my packed luggage, and didnt want to squash the candy, i put them in a handcarry paper bag along with other candys (condom etc)....to make matter worse, that time i left the paper bag in the airport express train...i was worried and felt depressed coz the paper bag not only contained the interesting candy, it had my other valuable stuff as well...after days of calling MTR lost and found, finally a guy called me and told me that he found a bag and wanted to confirm with me the content..so i said there were candy inside and my other stuff...the guy asked me, there are a lot of sanitary pads in the bag right? i went, no no, those are candy..then he said, oh, so you have a lot of sanitary pad candy right? i said yeah..he said well, this bag is yours then...mayb people didnt want my bag coz they thought it was full of women stuff...hahah..which is good...anyway, im out of topic now..this is just the fate of the candy and they arrived safely after so many chaos and now i gave them to my friends to play with...looks like two of my good friends were enjoying the candy...all the effort was worth it....(Hey LJ and CS, i didnt pose the other photo...you gals would kill me if i did...hehehe)

Is it the same for you?

Things always happen unexpectedly in life....some people may have already planned ahead but still, even with plans ahead, sometimes you still need to re-assess if you need to change your plans...be it good or bad, be it the way you plan or not, life is always about decisions decisions decisions...you wanna decide what you want to have for breakfast, lunch and dinner, decide what you want to do with your career or even life...decide what religion best suits you, what clothes you gonna wear, friends you wanna befriend with, who you are gonna marry etc etc etc...life is always full of uncertainties and it all depends on how you are going to take it and make it the way you want it to be...all the decisions and opportunities are in your hand... some people may not have plan and i'm that kind of person...i take things as they come...this has both pros and cons...pro: you tend to worry less about life and only worry when something hits you...but you have to be prepared in case the impact is big....; less disappointment if things don't turn out good because you don't have plan to achieve in the beginning; easily satisfied because if good things happen, they become bonuses to you. Con: you become aimless and don't know what to do when something unexpected happen; you will find it hard to make decision...taking forever to try to think and decide; indefinite dead brain cells; tend to worry and still aimless..... How many of you are like me? if you are like me, i strongly suggest you to try to figure out yourself now...try to get to know yourself, know wat you want, know what you are like etc...if you are the opposite of me, good for you...this will be a reference for you to know how ppl like me feel :) ChEERs

purpose of life

sometimes i wonder, what is the purpose of life....is there a flow chart as in how one should life his/her life? but normally, one's life starts like this:
  1. mum gives birth
  2. we sleep, cry, eat, sleep, sleep eat eat
  3. then we grow up
  4. then go to kindergarten, then secondary school, then Uni
  5. graduate and then start work
  6. climbing up corporate ladder
  7. found the love of your life
  8. get married
  9. have kids
  10. work hard so that you could provide for your kids
  11. pay mortgage, kids grow up
  12. sick then die
this is a typical life of a human being....ok, let's take a closer look at one's life in detail...
  1. get up in the morning
  2. bfast
  3. rush for work
  4. try to concentrate on work and work hard
  5. pressure from bosses, coworkers, clients, parents, kids...etc etc
  6. finally, get to leave office...go home, have dinner
  7. rest a bit or try to meet up with friends, or even OT or do house work etc etc etc..whatever you can think of u do after work.
  8. sleep (if you could fall asleep successfully)
  9. dream...happy dream, nightmare or just cant remember..our mind is constantly working
  10. alarm clock goes off...rush to get ready
  11. work
  12. and the life cycle repeats itself....
sometimes i wonder...what's the purpose of life if we are always just to do the same thing day in day out....trying to earn as much money as possible so that you could provide for your family? so that you could satisfy your wants and needs? so that you could live a happy and relax life? what is meaningful to you? in the end, after doing everything in the above CYCLES, we will grow old, get sick and die....so why do we work, why do we save if eventually, we wont be able to take these with us? there are so much short term happiness, pains, bitterness, pressure etc etc in our whole life time...what are we trying to accomplish? can anyone tell me?
