Pizza, anyone?

was in the states last week....had one whole week of western food!! and i have to say, i will stay away from it for quite some time...just the thoughts of cream, butter, cheese, bread, sandwich, sausages, bacon etc etc makes me weak in my legs...i have enough of them...i really wanted a bowl of PLAIN porridge...i had a BIG BIG pimple on my chin last week and it grew bigger and bigger and bigger and it had mucus in it...yucks...i felt like i had alien invading...a lively creature on my face...hahah...but i like the pizza i had in NY subway station...it was just a quick lunch that day...landed around 2pm, quickly checked in the hotel near the airport...didnt have much to eat there, so we decided to go to NY city first to feed ourselves...it was abt already 4pm++ when we got to the station..gosh..it was a LOOOOoooong ride..the pizza reminded me of miranda and carrie in sex & the city in one of the episodes...such a HUGE piece of pizza...and it tasted....OK la....just thought it was kinda big...i guess most things in the states are supersize :p

to buy or not to buy

Lately, my sony ericsson is going hay-wired....i could have just finished charging it and then talk for 2 mins and my phone will turn off automatically...i have a bad feeling..a very very bad feeling that my beloved sony ericsson phone is dying and it's gonna be dead soon....yup, i'm sad...for the following good reasons:
  • it has been with me for over 3 years...and we have gone through a lot of ups and downs together~~~
  • i still love the phone functions eventhough it's a bit outdated compared to the technology these days...it takes really good pictures!!!!
  • meaning i need to spend $$$ to get a new phone...perhaps i should just get a new battery...the phone works well...i remember asking my colleague abt mobile phones the other night and they were SoOooo surprised that i having using my mobile phone for THREE years...they think the useful life of a mobile phone is only ONE year...i am just proud to say that i'm a faithful person...loyal is the proper word

I have been researching for a phone to buy...a lot of my friends encourage me to buy i-phone because it's in fashion now and that it has really really good functions...i have to say, im not a technology person..actually as long as the mobile phones allow me to receive calls, make calls, sms, take pictures and have COLOURS, i'm pretty ok with them....iphones are SOOOo expensive and after thinking for very very long time...i have finally made up my mind to get it...and yesterday i went to the stores and guess what..., all the phones are SOLD OUT!!!!! too many rich people out there i guess....not like me :( have to think for so long and adjust my thoughts.....oh well, guess i have to wait a bit longer....i might change my mind in between...who knows...what would u do if u were me???!!!

Actually as i'm typing right now...both of my batteries are already DEAD...siiiiggggghhhh

be 'aeroplaned' or 'aeroplane'

you may wonder what the title means...let me give you the definition....
  • be aeroplaned is being FFK'd...FFK stands for Foi Fei Kei (in cantonese). in Chinese, it's means 放飛機。。。then being aeroplaned becomes 被放飛機。。
  • Aeroplane means i FFK ppl
Guess what happened to me tonight? as i mentioned in my previous post that i will be taking the 1am flight to new york tonight...what i didnt mention is, i will fly from HK via Vancouver to NY...initially, i was gonna take the flight on sat morning at 945am instead of the flight at 1am, my colleague persuaded me to take the midnight flight...initially, i didnt wanna take it coz it's 5 hours longer and it's midnight..but the thought of having a bunch of ppl arriving NY at 7am on saturday, i have to say, i was tempted..so before i agreed, i double confirmed whether we will need a canadian visa for my colleague is also malaysian...SO after confirming with the travel agent that we don't need a canadian visa to transit, i felt kinda excited abt this trip and made alot of arrangement already...and requested for exit row seat...that's for SURE..i need to stretch my leg...
so, as happily and excited i am earlier in the night, i packed and made sure i had everything and on my hand luggage, i made sure i have the necessity...eye mask, face mask, MP3, books etc etc...and now im all ready!!! Since it was late, so i ordered a taxi to go to airport directly (p/s: normally, i would use the airport train instead)...everything was so smooth, i checked in, went shopping for a while...and then my colleague called...well, i was gonna go to the immigration first but decided to wait for him since i was nearby.....i stood near the checked in counter when my colleague waved me to go over..so i did.....he looked disturbed and told me that we are NOT allowed to take this flight...i gave him the look and said, don't be childish la..i just checked it and it's not funny...he looked at me and said, we don't have canadian visa, we cannot go via vancouver...and he looked serious...the counter person also gave me the serious look and i asked both of them...ARE YOU SURE???? i just checked in!!!! well, it was good that we found out earlier and that i decided to wait for my colleague!!! or else, i might just fly for 17 hours and find that i have to do a detour!!???
my colleague was pissed and kept 'greeting' the travel agent...i just said, oh well, back to what i wanted initially, just that i looked funny to the security guard at my place that i would be returning home to sleep...hahha....so much for what the travel agent had done..he was quite helpful also la...after we made a phone call to him and told him abt it...in disbelief, he helped us arranged for the flight the next day (which the airport person told us would be hard to get coz flight was really full)...just that, i will be sitting at the window seat for 17 hours...sigh...how if i wanna pee~~sigh...torture torture...so this time, i aeroplane the aeroplane rather than being aeroplaned...not sure which one is better though :(
there...isnt my night very interesting? makan angin at the airport somemore...i wanna go zzz now..early day tomorrow morning~~wish me luck!!

around the world

Tada~~this is jenn's collection of magnets in malaysia...some of them are bought by me, some by her, some given by friends....still have a lot more elsewhere..why? because there are a lot of hungry people at home, we open and close the fridge door too often that some of them fall off...in order to 'preserve' their lives, jenn thinks it will be good to keep them away from the doors...so these are just some of the magnets from her collection...jenn's dream one day is to fill the door with magnets that you cannot even see the grey area....^^ that will be a looOOooooong way to go!!!

it's US time again

Here i go again...another trip to US after 6 months...oh well, it's long enough and this is exactly the trip i need to keep my membership status...yahoo...it just comes at the right time...well, im not exactly a fan of US...just the thought of 17++ hours of flight time, time zone difference, having to see my bosses and the place itself has already put me off..but i gotta stay positive right? okie dokie, so here it goes again..hopefully i could have a good sleep on the plane tonight..i'm taking the midnight flight... :( tomorrow night at 7pm, i will be in New York...where all the actions are..hiak hiak hiak...

Wild durian

just a day before CNY, jenn and I went to the market at 7th mile to get some flowers for grandpa and grandma when we stumbled across some wild durians...these are mum's favourite and very hard to find..so we quickly went to the stall and checked it out...they looked kinda malnutritions (营养不良) and they were quite expensive...we started bargaining with the stall owner but he refused...oh well, we didnt care, we took the wild durians and gave him the amount we wanted to pay and told him 'gong xi fa cai' eventhough he was malay and told him we would come back if the durians are good and thank him for the CNY present to the young ladies...hehe..he seemed happy after that...after hearing we might either come back or tell other ppl to come back..right after i went home, i quickly open the durians..oh boy, it needed a lot of strength and skills to open the small spiky creature!! *sweating* and they were delicious...i just wish they were bigger~~ guys, if you happen to see this no matter where u go, pls buy them for me or my mum or jenn~~ thanks ya ^^

fish bladder story (鱼票风云)

You may wonder what this is (ie the hard, yellowish, weird looking creatures in the pics below)...well, they are the precious from my dad...it's the fish bladder...you will have to bake it, then soak it, then clean it and then cook it and it will end up like sponge..don't get me wrong, they are superlicious!!! especially the way my mum cooks it..yummy..she will cook her own chicken stock from kampung chicken (ie freelance chicken), then she will add in dried scallops, throw in chinese cabbage, fresh fish balls made by her own hands, then the fish bladder and cook it for a few hours...tada, then you have the soup!! more like a meal to me... :) gosh, now i realized how much i miss mum's home cooked meals...
that day, mum was trying to make the soup for me and dad suggested mum to cook those things hanging on the wall...why it needs permission? coz my dad paid a considerable amount of money to purchase those...yup, i know they are not cheap coz i have seen the cheap ones, they look like, hmmm, pig skin...that day, dad came to the kitchen, took one of the creatures down and gave to my mum...i was very touched :') i felt loved ^^ i asked dad and mum why we have the creatures hanging all over the kitchen and storerooms...the answer made me laughed so hard that i almost roll on the floor laughing ("ROFL'')....mum said dad did that on purpose coz of the following:
  1. The creatures were very expensive and if you hang them together, it would draw attention to people, and would start planning on ways to steal them...
  2. in case there were uninvited guests in the house, not all creatures would be taken away if we put them in different locations...this is what i called diverting attention
hhmm..hopefully, the uninvited guests would not even know their value!!! i just thought it was cute and not without logic...it just looks kinda funny to have this hanging around the house and to some people, they just don't look so valuable..now i know~~~~
