CNY tit bits

For the past 18 days (including 3 days before CNY), i had been having CNY tit bits non stop...for breakfast, for lunch, for dinner, for supper, snacks etc etc...and it seems like i couldnt get enough and still have to bring them back to HK with me....the result? FATSO...ya ya ya, i know, i had got comments from strangers, from friends, from jennifer's colleagues, from mum's friends that i...i...have grown (T_T)....that made me want to eat even more!!! jenn, i hope you are happy now..now im the hippo while you are the giraffe >_<
(from left to right: Muruku, more muruku, muruku again, kuih momo, mum's pineapple and MORE muruku)
(mum's pineapple tarts...they were yummy, i finished them in...5 mins!!, i ate like dinasaurs!!)
what am i going to do with myself? jenn and i bought the Detox tea bags recommended by belle and Christine from kenyalang and i have been having it yesterday...it looks like im detoxing while im putting in junk food in my mouth...sigh....oh well, it's better than just having inputs but no outputs if you know what i mean...i sure hope it works!!

Right Portion of food

saw this from TV the other day that in order to stay slim, the right portion of food for each person is the size of you knuckle!!! right after the commercial, i was like...OMG OMG OMG...is this TRUE? coz my knuckle is not that big and what's worse, i eat 3 times my knuckle for each meal!!! hey, it's not fair, some people have bigger knuckle and they get to eat more...i have a small knuckle for a tall person my size~~i spread the news to my friends...and compared by knuckle with CCS...guess what? his knuckle doubles mine...but of coz, he is double my size too :p well, i guess it could be true...but i dono how i could be full for having a knuckle full of food?! sighhh...so boys and girls, if you want to look like a supermodel, please start to take care of your diet and eat food the size of you knuckle!!!

Tiger, the dog

It was nice to be Hooomeeee~~~~and i have to say...i really had a LOT of fun and FOOD!! this trip, i played a lot with our doggie at home, TIGER...btw, i gave him the name because when jenn got him, he was so small that we were so scared he might go to heaven...we hope he would turn out to be like a real tiger, roaring strongly and angrily at bad guys...
Tiger likes to play with people...he loves people patting him and will stay there like a stone forever if you pat him...when you play with him...he becomes excited and starts to lick your toes, tries to jump on you wanting your hand to pat his head, scratches himself against your legs like a cat..oh, he knows how to 'ask for love' (AKA 撒娇) too ^^...he looks kinda innocent but in actual facts, he is quite intelligent..i mean, for a doggie...the thing he hates most is having his bath~~~~ unfortunately, it's something unavoidable for him...coz it's CNY, he needs to meet a lot of people and he cant smell...like a dog...so jenn and i give him bath as regular as possible..haha...everytime he is bathing, he will struggle so pitifully that you will feel guilty for leashing him at the gate...if only he could understand human talk, i would tell him to treat it like a luxurious massage...oh, i think he just looks innocent la......i took a video of tiger bathing one day during his bath..sorry tiger, i am showing you taking bath to the world while you were...hhmm..naked :D
enjoy the video of Tiger, the dog (sounds contradicting, dont you think...how can a tiger be a dog and vice versa?! :p) eventhough he is naughty, i actually miss him right now :')

how do you know you are converted?

time flies and before i knew it, i have already been in HK for exactly 5 years!!! i still remember 5 yrs ago, i told the world that i will see them in kuching 12 months later, for i would come back to kuching for good...but words are just words... ><..... eventhough it was painful in the beginning, human could still adjust their lives...YUP, it was definitely the most painful moment of my lives...more painful than when i didnt understand a word of english in australia and got bullied by "small" bullies....so many things happened and i'm glad i have become a better person~~~

was talking to my good friend about hongkongers...and we both find hongkongers fascinating...what's even more fascinating is....my friend is also a hong konger :) well...how do you know you have been converted to one of them? here are some pointers:

  1. keep pressing "close" button when you are in the lift even though there are people trying to get in...just seems that you are constantly rushing for an unknown appointment...in HK, you will notice, the sign of the "close" buttons are always rubbed off!!
  2. talking loudly eventhough you are just next to them
  3. rather wait at the entrance/exit instead of using your own hands to push/pull the doors open at the mall...for you think the doors are always dirty and might get H1N1 if you do...
  4. you always try to run through the closing doors of the train no matter how crowded the train is or that it only takes 2 minutes for the next train to come....time is money...
  5. you try to squeeze in the over crowded escalator eventhough there's another less crowded one next to it...for you think taking another 2 - 3 steps will take too much energy and time...
  6. get in the line for not knowing what you are queing for....for you know if there's a long Q, it means they must worth something....
  7. buy as much as possible eventhough your house is already cluttered...
  8. taking staircase one floor up? no way ho say....must wait for lift...it's only 5 - 10 mins of waiting time!!!
  9. must be seen in gucci, LV or channel...when you are buying, there's no time to think twice...you like it? you must it NOW!!! otherwise, it will be gone gone gone
  10. Having your breakfast, lunch and dinner at restaurants but homes....
  11. getting a maid

im glad to say...i'm just 0.5% converted...phew

To get or not to get

was having dinner with Ah Fai near home last night and after such heavy dinner, we both decided to go for a walk to walk off the calories....it was a cool saturday night :p, nothing much to do just chit chatting and window shopping...then we came across this shop selling all sorts of blinking accessories...recently, most of the people around me are carrying i-phones and as much as i would like to get one, i just couldnt bring myself to get one..it's HKD5400 each!!! oh dear, i better just stick to the traditional type of phones....for the past xx years, i only have 5 phones!!! i still remember i got my first nokia 3210 in Taipei 10 years ago and the first time i used it, i dropped it and killed the screen...i couldn't see anything on the screen unless i 'adjusted' it, couldnt see who called me, couldnt use the phonebook function, couldnt use sms...but still, i used it for 2 years...then i switched to a nokia 8210...which was one of my favourites...but after 2 yrs, i dropped it in a taxi in KK after the exhausted mountain climbing....anyway, that wasnt the point
so i took a picture of the shop...very blinky right? while standing outside looking at them, a couple stood next to me and i overheard their conversation...the bf said lovingly to the gf that she could choose whatever she wanted and he would buy for her and both of them went in and got out empty handed...didnt know why until we walked in...OH MY, one phone case cost around HKD800+++ and the one i like (i.e. ultra man 咸蛋超人) costs HKD900!!! imagine, if i got an iphone for HKD5400 + a case for HKD 900, it will cost HKD 6300...i might as well go and buy a laptop...CHIU...dream shattered, wants diminished...i still love my Sony Ericssion...
Even dream shattered and wants diminished, i still like the ultra man casing..it's so cute...i dont mind receiving it as a valentine's present or early christmas present *hint hint* :)

Spring Cleaning

i was cleaning my PIG STY today to get ready for the Chinese New Year....we have this tradition that when it's approaching CNY, one must clean his/her place..so i did~~...and i took one WHOLE morning to clean it...now, you could imagine how cleEEEAAaaaan my place was...hahaha...anyway, while cleaning, i threw away alot of stuff..including useless stuff and expired food :p, then i cleaned like cinderella (i.e. swept the floor, mopped the floor while singing loudly at home..well, without the help of the birdies and the squirrels of coz) and woalah, my place is sparkling clean now..but not for long...hiak hiak hiak...anyway, i found garfield's friend, PORKY, hiding behind a lot of photo frames...as cute i as find it and decide to make my day by putting it to a place where i can see it whenever i walk pass or sitting down in front of the computer..tada...isn't cute?

得意忘形

went to taichung sometime last year for the FIRST time and i have to say...WOW, it's a lot bigger than taipei!!! hehehe, the roads are much wider, shops are much bigger and of coz, less people...but the night market? i prefer the ones in taipei :) my usual agenda in taiwan is eat, play, sleep and eat, play, sleep and the cycle repeats itself...so when i was in taichung, i didnt miss out on any good food and of coz, bought a lot of FOOD back....we didnt bring a lot of luggages with us, so how did we carry them bacK? with a lot of big bags..and inside the big bags, there are alot of small bags..kinda like the holland dolls if you know what i'm talking about...taiwan version would be 大肠包小肠 ( ;p direct translation would be small sausages within the big sausages...hiak hiak hiak..what a lousy translation i have done..hopefully i get the point across)...anyway, out of topic...that day, we were waiting for bullet train to arrive... and while talking happily at the platform, we saw a train coming...and only after 2 mins, we realized that was our TRAIN and we were waiting at the WRONG side of the platform...OMG, we almost missed our train at the train platform..how embarrassing...and luckily we managed to get on the train...but we almost left our valuables behind!!!! (see below)
